My Work?

After a medical retirement from being Superman, I was soon contracted by our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.

I am a ~Called~ Pastor. I taught Bible to homeless for Four & 1/2 years, then did a year as a medical care giver, I am currently on sabatical, preparing to start teaching again.

Being led by the Holy Spirit is an interesting occupation.

Oh, the Superman comment? In my life I have done ~so many~ kinds of jobs that it makes some folks sniker, really !!! When was the last time you knew some one who worked making TOOTH PASTE TUBES? Really!

That was my first job, after 3 years of Enlistment, US ARMY, 1968-1971 I also once made "bearing races" not the bearings, just the races... Yeah, I know, Say What ?????

My First job: Tomato picker AKA "farm worker", age Twelve, 1962. Second job, News Paper Delivery Boy, 1963, both AM & PM papers, up at 4:30 AM, out the door, home for breakfast, then to school...

My first Owner/Operator company: Phil's Lawn Mowing Service.

I have also built Log Houses commercially, stick built houses, Set up crew for Manufacured Hiuses... And was a Specialty Floor Mechanic, for a Premier Flooring Company, the O/O though deceased, is still known for his Flooring Work !!!! I consider working under him, as my Best job until "present work": I worrked in a 27 Million dollar Winery, in Napa County, on a 7,000 SF floor, doing the Final Work, on the finished floor. Also worked in about four diffrent houses, being built, that cost in excess of Two Million $$$$, as the finish flooring worker... All the detailed stuff was my department.

In fact they seldom let me just "lay flooring" cause I was just a bit slower for them to make good $$$ with me doing that!

I usually worked with a crew, doing the cut in's, door areas, and other items that slowed down a regular floor mechanic... I would do 20% of the flooring, and match timing for the 80 %... But you never could see my work, it was CTF"" Cut To Fit.

Not to mention, gunnite opperator, building swimming pools... Oh, and Jeweler....

Complete resume' to long for here !!!!

philip,
BTDT, Do It Again? give me a second to decide......

I'm just a lowly fisherman. Here's my view all day.

Railroader. Hired out as a switchman, now I alternate working as a switchman, engineer and yardmaster. Being in the middle of the seniority board, I jump around on jobs and shifts a lot.

Old as Dirt: Any Hydro units on the Columbia?

Like Bonneville?.. actually there are quite a few.. interesting fact, they use both of the bridge cranes married up to a picking fixture.. and lift the 700 ton rotors @ Bonneville Dam.. impressive lifting capabilities..

Last time I was there.. we rebuilt the bridge cranes, new drive units, gearboxes, trucks, blocks and cabling.. then had to load test them for 125%.. used a 90 ton hydraulic crane just to lift the rigging that attached to the main block for the load test..

I am a Environment Specialist, fancy Gov word for Janitor. A little more involved though, I clean and reset the operating rooms at the VA hospital. Extremely rewarding serving my fellow vets.

FofFoud, I was "in the que" for a VA L4/L5 surgury. Was completely healed via using a TENS UNIT. They are not for "everyone", but for those that they work upon, remarkable healings are there.

TENS: Transubcutaenal Electrode Nerve Stimulation. They are a prescription type item, but can be found ~online~ OTC, read on them, study the correct usage issues, and for less than a "C Note" you can be in much better, no pain meds needed relief!

Through the Doctor, the cost is 300% more...... With wife as applicator, you will be even better off than me, trying to reach & apply by "touch" is just not the correct method !!!

Hope That Helps,

philip

Pain free for a year, with occaisional reapplications to continue when needed...

Thanks for the info.

I am down to taking (4) Vicodins and (3) Gabapentins a day. Walking about 30 blocks twice daily. I arm curl 35lb dumbbells 6 sets of 10s daily. I try to ride the exercise bike occasionally but it freaking kills me. I am improving but not sure when I will start doing setups, push ups and bench pressing again. I am soooooo far from P90x. I'll get back there again soon I hope.

I absolutely hate the stairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
