I make more money than I ever have. Have ended up with what irons out to almost a 10,000 dollar a year raise this year. The pandemic has been great for us financially, as my wife has had essentially the same increase, plus a shift differential.
I am aware that this could change pretty suddenly, but one thing that the big orange hardware store does right is insulate middle management and higher from layoffs. She works for a bank that is a fan of stagecoaches, so I am a little more leery of their stability.
I don't mean to sound a braggart, but the opposite. I understand that our experience this year is very drastically different from that of a great many people.
That said, it still isn't quite enough to attain the goals we have without taking second jobs.
