One of the posters in @Andy54Hawken classroom.
I always thought he had something kind of like this.

Well, everyone including you have ignored the OP in favor of a political discussion, so there we are.

What is different now? That people use military rifles often to kill larger groups of people than seemingly any individual did decades ago. And the military weapons got more useful for that role.

I think that's pretty much an established fact. The opinion is whether the behavior of bad people in 1910 with bolt action rifles has anything to do with the behavior of bad people in 2023 with semiauto carbines. And whether that behavior can be moderated via weapon access. But the comparison between the two is weak, at best. Especially when you consider that the US now uses carbine sized M16s for the role that a water cooled Browning .30 machinegun was used for when those bolt action rifles were mailed to your home.
Whoa there hoss, you might wanna back that wrecx7 up a few paces and re read that horsesh!t you just posted,, "Military rifles to kill large groups of people" bullsh!t
NAME ME ONETIME an actual Military rifle, (Not your civilian replica AR or AK), was actually used to commit mass murder, I'll wait while you dig!

The Actual answer is ZERO, as in Never happened, ( unless you count the cops doing the killing like Kent State,) No,........................Actual Military issued weapons used to commit mass murder!

I think we all could name at least one... Charles Whitman and the UT Tower shooting...

It's my understanding he had at least one M1 carbine of standard military issue.

And if we want to take it a little further, the 6mm Remington 700 rifle Whitman also had with him was the basis for the design of the M24 and M40 USMC sniper rifles...

Well, now that the ban is on, I'm sticking with what I've already got.

I refuse to tailor my future gun-buying around compliance with unconstitutional laws. I will be taking every single one of my ARs to the range every time now. Along with many, many standard-capacity magazines.

Now, I was already planning on buy a back-up deer rifle (bolt action, high quality) and a couple more lever-actions. Got all the shotguns I need.

Will NEVER buy a lever-action or bolt-action AR just to comply with stupid laws. And no, I will never buy a lever action rifle with black plastic furniture or pic rails.

I dont expect manufacturers to start pushing out new designs to appeal to ban states just because WA is the latest to fall. There are enough people in the states already under bans that would justify new designs, compliant designs.
Ultimately, the gun manufacturers dont give a crap about appeasing ban states... many of them are content to remain in such states and send millions in taxes their way.

Ruger could make a mini14 variant with a fixed mag fed by strippers, non threaded barrel, etc... but they wont.
Someone could create a new enbloc gun easy enough... but they wont.

there's not enough profit in it for them. so they wont.

Manufacturers could band together and refuse to sell to any local/state agency where similar weapons are banned for civilian use. But do you think S&W or Glock will tell WA or CA to pound sand over their anit-2A laws? no. they wont.

As with most political defeats the average man suffers in America, no one is coming to save you.

The rest of the country will move on without us, the gun industry will move on without us... we will be relegated to competing for legacy designs at inflated prices.

wheel guns, lever actions and 1911s will be the order of the day from here on out.

Until even those get banned, and ultimately, confiscated... It is the natural progression in shiithole states run by Communists, Socialists, and Marxists...

also add that everyone in the thread bagging on WA residents talking about guns that are "compliant" ...

WTF are we supposed to do?

Not comply? Great, read the law... this is implemented in a way where our compliance is not required.

How can you go on a hunger strike when you arent being offered food?

We have zero choice in this... again, our compliance isnt necessary. The industry, distributors and LGS is where compliance is at, and they will comply without question.

No one is going to put their paycheck, stock price or dividends on the line to make a stand for 2A rights. We have seen examples of this across the country for 30 years. NO one is coming to save you.

This is the future. It was inevitable. Too many Republicans stayed home over the years grumbling and nitpicking candidates and did turn out to vote, been that way for decades. I dont want to hear about cheating either... if we all turned out, it would be next to impossible to cheat... but since we only make like a 30% showing its real easy to cook the numbers or just have more dems show out. Theyll vote for Hitler if he were on the Democrat ticket... but the Reeepublicans will get a wild hair about a candidate because they said something about something sometime and well dag nabbit IM not voting for that son of a bubblegum!
Nevermind its better have someone who votes in your favor 70% of the time than let someone win who will vote against you 100% of the time.

Universal suffrage was a mistake and democracy is a joke.... but here we are. Laugh now, but the rest of you will be next.

So shut yer yaps and let us think about guns we can get, while we can still get them at all.

Well, hopefully Clarence is getting pissed by now about all the efforts to discredit him, so maybe that'll hasten some SCOTUS action.

We didn't even have that -- in some of the rural Eastern Washington counties, it was more like 13-17% of eligible voters. And in what counties in WA do a lot of the gun-owners reside?
The same ones that cry about being misrepresented in elections.
And they want to merge with Idaho.... Nice idea, but maybe quit being lazy and try voting first. Idaho doesn't want you if you can't be bothered to help.

Not all of us in EWA are shiftless, lazy arseholes... Just sayin'...
