If serialized pistol lowers are "Other" with no waiting period, than that is the way to go for Washington residents.
Unfortunately we have members who refuse to sell their firearms in that configuration. Personally I have no issue when selling to a Washington resident separating the upper and lower and then giving the upper to them in the parking lot.

It's not about me, it's about everyone in this state. I do what everyone on here does email there representatives and vote but their is not enough of us who do that.
Even if that was the case it still wouldn't change.

Representatives have to care about who they represent and what they want. And that's simply not the case.

Doesn't matter. In my geographic location the sheer number of morons is astronomical. The people who are voted in (assuming that process is still trustworthy) are openly socialist, crime loving, America hating, and they still win.

Article I, Section 24 of the state constitution:

The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself, or the state, shall not be impaired, but nothing in this Section shall be construed as authorizing individuals or corporations to organize, maintain or employ an armed body of men.

Sure seems pretty clear that if these are "dangerous weapons of war", they would be suitable for "defense of the state" and expressly protected by the state constitution.

It's almost like they don't care that they violate their oaths to uphold it.

I understand it that even components will be banned so just buying a lower for now is useless unless you have the other parts or plan on buying them before the ink dries. Also, does anyone have a clue as to how soon the senate can vote on this… realistically! Are they voting daily on issues and the ban/initiative is just waiting it's turn or does this have priority to hit the floor asap? Kinda want to roll the dice but I need more assurances, which I know are here say but wanted to ask anyways. Good luck to anyone who did roll them this week! 🎲 🎲

The AR platform in its entirety will be banned. That means uppers, lowers, parts, etc. Go buy a stripped lower and order the parts to complete it online. Once it's in the mail, you're in the clear.

The best guesses as to how soon seem to be around the 3 week mark-ish to make vote in the senate and signed into law. That's making some assumptions that movement will be consistent with similar actions in the past, but it is by no means a guarantee.

IOW, it is "likely" to take at least 3 weeks, probably a bit longer, but "could" be pounded through by next weeks end.

The nutshell: DO NOT delay! Now is "now"!

Buy lowers it's the only federally regulated part after that there is no way to mandate the rest even if you drive across the border to buy parts just like magazines, they can't prove crap

Yuppie apartment dwellers don't typically own guns.

Dyed-in-the-wool lefties who own property don't typically own guns.

You've got a lot of both in the city of Seattle.

socialist, crime loving, America hating that's your topical Seattle person right there that I run into on a daily basis. I use to get into discussions with these people trying to explain why the government doesn't pay for insurance or other things and that that's Socialism now I don't bother total sheep 🐑

Socialism, in its purest form where everyone puts their shoulder to the wheel and contributes equally would be a fine idea. But it never works out that way because of human weakness. Which in the case of the USA involves the granting and taking of too much free stuff. The inherent weakness of socialism is that someone needs to pay for it, and that someone has to be everyone.

I suppose people who don't work don't need guns. Because they don't have anything of value to get stolen from them because they haven't been saving. We won't count illegal drugs for this discussion. Therefore, people suckling on the various government teats for free stuff may not tend to be pro gun. Of course there are still other obvious dangers that non-working people may face that they require protection from.

I blame a lot of this problem on our education system especially the colleges.

Last year it took all of three days to pass the mag bill in both houses two days to get it to the governor and he signed it into law in two weeks

But 1240 is his Bill his request he may act sooner scary times, I started my paperwork yesterday on a $2500 AK before this passed and my FFL is a friend and he thinks I won't have enough time
May have to ship it out of state to a family meme Dr

Yeah. Personally, I think it's going to be a lot sooner than many might think. They are even more emboldened after last years legislative session, IMHO.

Ever wonder if the so called 'people's representatives' in the west coast states have meetings that go like this?
California ' We passed illegal laws that will outlaw magazines of certain sizes and require background checks on ammo'
Oregon 'we talked the sheep into passing THE most over-reaching and restrictive set of gun laws in the nation'
Washington 'hold my beer'
of course Washington's 'law' will be challenged. Of course it will wind up to the supremes. of course we the people will pay for this, when all 'we the people' want are for laws that actually make sense, punish the bad people, and leave law abiding folk alone.

Doubt it.

It's more lame than that. People have a nasty habit of telling other people how they should live. To the 1%, everyone is a pleb.

When was the last time an elite went down for their crimes? (Actual crimes, not perceived) Operation Abscam should have been an annual occurrence, not something left to the history books.

So, no, the political elite really do want to tell you how to live and it's all for your own good. Newsom et al doesn't care about gun laws - he's got exempt armed bodyguards and could afford a registered MG if he really wanted it.

Honestly, if the justice system is corrupted, it's up to everyone in their own capacity to stand up for their rights and the rights of others.

Firearms companies need to cut contracts. Security guards need to refuse positions with corrupted institutions. Etc. The fact that we're all looking out for #1 is why we're in this mess to begin with.
