@bolus From my understanding of the article, yes, and because it's believed they got taken over by a manufacturer already black listed because of previous importation bans.

Sad part was I was just about to buy one in .308. Had so many plans to turn it into one bad mama jamba of a battle rifle, with folding stock and all. With the import ban, and scarcity of spares as it is, better off not getting it for something you'd actually use.

This finally forced my hand to buy one for $749 in 7.62x39. I figure I'll 922r comply it and get the magazine conversion setup done so it takes standard AK mags. I doubt there will be a chance to get a Russian made AK again anytime soon.
