I am not dissing Colt, but the last one I owned was an A1 slab side simply because it was just that. No one else makes an original version of that.

SOPMOD Stock any brand, MIl-spec.

That is very subjective. I have come to find out I do not like them for anything other than possibly a precision orientated gun. On a GP gun I much prefer being upright with taller mounts coupled with a narrow stock, BCM Mod 0 and B5 Bravo being my favorites.

I don't think you can with an M&P Sport. That was one of their cost cutting items.

It's not a big deal unless you roll around in the mud with your rifle.

The 6920 is the "standard" because people believe what they are told. There are plenty of good AR's out there that will last at least as long with the same reliability.

It is the "yard stick" by which others are measured, a datum point.

That's a matter of opinion, personally, I want one. It prevents debris from getting caked in the lube on the BCG and grinding through the action when fire. I guess It's not a big deal if your rifle never leaves the square range.

Every armorer I've talked to and/or taken classes from and SME's like Larry Vickers.

Colt has churned out sone serious garbage over the years. Series 80? New Python? Plenty of 1911's in general?

@titsonritz those guys all know more than me so I can't argue. All I can do is use my basic knowledge of metal to know that Colt isn't producing parts or firearms that are SO MUCH better than others or made of better or special materials. Unless they're for the Gun Room.
