The only thing that comes to mind when I see the name, 'Dick Morris' is "Romney will win in a landslide"

2nd amendment can't go away. It's a right guaranteed by our Creator and recognized by the charter of our country in the U.S. Constitution. Moreover, many states, mine included, also have a Constitution which also guarantees the RTKABA.

Now, a treaty has to go through a similar process that a bill does to become law. The President or in this case Kerry can't just sign it and it's law. It has to go before the senate with policy benefits and potential risks to the US; Any significant regulatory or environmental impact; or, Analysis of the issues surrounding the treaty's implementation...

Senate Foreign Relations Committee can begin its consideration. It can vote to send the treaty to the full Senate for action, with a favorable or unfavorable recommendation, or even without any recommendation at all; it can also decide to ignore the treaty entirely.

If/when the Committee on Foreign Relations sends a treaty to the full Senate, the Senate considers whether to give its "advice and consent" or approval. That requires 67 votes, or two-thirds of the 100 Senators. The Senate may make its approval conditional by including in the consent resolution amendments to the text of the treaty, its own RUDS (reservations, understandings, and declarations), or other statements.

If 67 votes are achieved, back to the POTUS for signing along with documents giving the US Government's agreement to abide by the treaty, as well as any RUDS .

Having said all that, with all those supposedly smart law makers touching upon the treaty and reading it's text in it's entirety along with debates back and forth should come to the simple conclusion that it would infringe upon our RTKABA. If not and it gets signed to be the law of the land, PURE TYRANNY, RESPOND ACCORDINGLY!!
