UN troops on USA soil could only be interpreted one way.. invasion by a foreign power. And those who helped/cooperated with them as only one thing- traitors. The truth be known, we have UN troops on our soil nearly all the time. Off course, it is for training. We train Germans, Turks, Saudi's and have many other nations military embedded into our units as exchange officers. My units had Australians and occasionally some German officers that worked along next to American pilots and crew. I think the Germans keep a full time flight training unit at Cannon AFB and we have worked with entire German units Deployed to the Southern California/Nevada ranges. But the idea of them deployed on our streets is probably illegal (Posse Comitatus) as well as brain dead stupid.

I don't mean to nit pick but they are not 'deployed' to this location - it's more like a TDA (temporary duty assignment) on the good graces of the US Military. 'Deployment' denotes the movement of troops or equipment for military action.

We define a "deployment" as temporary duty as opposed to a PCS, Perminent change of station. Yes.....they were deployed. My son was Deployed to fly helicopters (in the USCG) to the artic this last summer. His perminent station remained Humboldt
