National Gun Registration Is Part of the UN Small Arms Treaty

What the treaty covers is the transfer of arms between countries, not individuals.

My point is that there are a lot of conspiracy theorists that like to flat out make stuff up (or at the very least, stretch the interpretation of the text) to stir up a lot of discontent.

There are plenty of people out there already who want to ban individual ownership and transfer of firearms in the USA. The UN is not one of those orgs. Don't let people distract you from the real enemies of our rights by making stuff up about other orgs that could care less about gun bans in the US.

Maybe.

There are certainly those in power who want the balance of power to be in their favor, which in turn means civilian disarmament.

However, we have to pick and choose our battles, and going on a wild goose chase and/or inventing false threats doesn't help our cause.
