They thrive on public lands and can be found all over central and eastern Oregon public lands.

I used to see lots of them when ML deer hunting in the Metolius unit East of Camp Sherman.

Here's a few in my front driveway, my daughter sent me the photo and said there were 17 of them total. She wants to hunt upland birds and I literally know nothing about it, just that she needs to get away from precision shooting (ranked 3rd nationally in smallbore and 4th in air for her age group) for a bit and practice with a shotgun. I'm worried though that the recoil may induce a flinch. She's on track to score higher this season in precision and I don't really want to ruin that.
