I am all for more gun control. I am in complete control of my EDC and my carbine is locked and loaded with 2 spare mags also in my control. How do you ward off murderers if not by counter violence?

Where does a unemployed loser like the shooter come up with the funds to buy a Scoped rifle to do this
I'll say it again this was an INSIDE JOB

Does no one remember Biden during the DEBATE threatening Trump with (there's more coming down the line for you)( Or wait till you see what's coming for you next)
well now we know what Biden was talking about
Same place he got food, lodging and travel funds while antifa-ing all across the country for the last couple years.

There are radicals on both sides. This individual was a lone wolf - the reasons for his actions are unknown. We only know what his goal was and fortunately he failed.

OP's topic is gun control from this event. IMO it won't have that much effect except for the folks who are already arguing for gun control will have more "ammo".

If Trump hadn't turned his head to the side in that split second he would have been killed. Then calls for gun control would have been off the scale imo.

Also re comments on shooters affiliation, i would say don't assume anything. 8 months before registering as a republican he gave to Biden's campaign. It doesn't mean much imo.

Re "how could he afford that rifle must be an inside job." You can get an AR with 4x or even 24x scope for $400 total. Again I would say wait for facts and don't jump to conspiracy theories when a more likely explanation is a mentally screwed up kid, just like every other mass shooting we've had for the most part.

I'm hoping the near death experience doesn't get Trump leaning toward more gun control. He pushed for making bump stocks illegal after the Vegas shooting, so wondering how this will affect his stance.

This is a possibility but why would a guy go from what appeared to be a potentially well financed 'leader' in a variety of Antifa and other radical causes to a 'lone wolf' knowing his chances are nearly zero of survival?
Most (all?) of these mentally ill mass shooters go into it knowing it's a one way ticket.

IMO bump stock thing was an almost knee-jerk reaction and when everyone was clamoring for more gun control due to the horrific nature of the shooting. I think the sting will have worn off on this one (pun intended) by Nov. and it won't be a knee-jerk reaction. Who knows though.
