It's quite common nowadays for some to register contrary to their real affiliation. This is in order to affect the primary results.

The issue seems to be that whoever runs in the primaries are either "incumbent(bad on 2A), new (bad on 2a), says theyre ok with 2A (but does not have the voting record reflecting that) or is worse than incumbent for 2A" for one party, and the other party is basically "incumbent mealy mouth (neutral to bad for 2A), new (but neutral on 2A), but way more religious (disregards sep of church and state), or is single issue (prochoice)/theocratic ambitions and doesnt have any voting record of 2A)

as for gun control laws... if another attack on Trump's life is made and maybe succeed, expect nationwide calls to put all semiauto rifles into NFA, and to amend NFA to eliminate "dangerous and unusual" weapons and keep just "dangerous", add "to society" in NFA wording

Don't know if in PA, long guns are available to 18yo. Also, they are affordable to most. "Some groups" in Seattle were handing out assault rifles from the trunk of a car with no background checks. Remember that.

I dream, the no-justice system would do their job for once and round up the conspirators. I won't hold my breath.

There are photos of the vapor trail of a bullet flying behind Trumps head. So the one that actually hit looks to be a 2nd or later shot.

It seems the rooftop snipers view of the assassin were obstructed by trees.

The assassin was using iron sights on a AR-15 style rifle, and the rooftop snipers had large scopes.

The video of the snipers shows both of them balking at taking a shot, and the assassin gets 8 shots off before some sniper someplace shoots him.

That red dot is in the wrong place. Look at video from above that showed his body before anyone else was on the roof. It's more towards the middle. It very possible the secret service view was obscured by trees though I agree.

Agree they were way too slow to take a shot as they look like they were surprised and kinda ducked when he started shooting. My point is they should have had a bead on him before that cuz people were pointing at him from the ground to the secret service snipers who were looking at the guy who was pointing through binoculars.

The snipers views still could have been obstructed by the branches of the tree on the left side. By the way they reacted I don't believe they had a clear line of sight.

Kind of a 'Devil's Advocate' question.

That would make sense (to me) in light of the tendency for cops nowadays to be hesitant to take action cuz they may get in trouble. But I think we should hold secret service to the highest possible standards. Kind of like the SAS in Britain, they should be the best of the best and not hesitate. Maybe that's unrealistic though I don't know.

As more becomes known about the shooter, the troubling thing emerging isn't that he represents radicalized politics so much as how he seems utterly typical of countless other young men with guns who have destroyed lives in countless other venues where people gather.
