A vomit of thoughts:
The responses here are an interesting change from a couple years ago when this thread would have been at least 50% "I will not comply".
Non compliance is best done in private, not on a web site with an electronic "paper trail" where covert monitoring by alphabet agencies could easily catch such activity.

It's probably just what the LIBERALS (and their useful idiots) wanted. Huh? Yup, to CURTAIL FREEDOM. Be it....slowly. So as not to alert the intended victim(s).

I am a rookie in this forum, haven't posted a ton YET. I like what I see here. On occasion I see something that doesn't sit right with me. That members are willing to call out hokey situations is good in my book. I like that the staff can get down in the brush with troops and get on top of the. shall I say. suspicious activity and support the troops. This thread was of particular interest to me as it on many levels pointed toward a potential disaster for the OP and for the forum itself. two thumbsup.jpg

Respond "yes, we can meet here..." and send him an address of a local police station...
Don't really!
Seems like a dumb decision.
Sorry i'm trying to be funny about something that could be so harmful to you.

I'm glad the OP didn't fall for this - I may not agree with SB941, but I will comply with it so long as it's the law. And if I was someone that wouldn't comply, the last thing I would do is advertise that on a public forum. This is either someone trolling gun owners to entrap them or someone so remarkably stupid and dangerous that they shouldn't even own a gun in the first place.

Glad the mods got on this.

@AndyinEverson I think you actually jumped on this one first - has it been resolved? Is this person gone?

Still looking into the matter...
Joe Link and others are also involved...

Whether or not we agree to all the legal paperwork , fees , BGC's etc...
It is against forum rules to conduct illegal activity when buying , selling or trading firearms
( just posting as a reminder...;) :) )

Outside of this forum and with no one I know personally the 'word on the street' is compliance is disappearing faster than a fart in the wind.

I was one of those that was chanting "I will not Comply", but look at me now. I also don't agree with 941, but it is not worth losing my privileges to not follow the law. # Scared Straight

That's fine.

However, how many people do you know well enough that you would trust them with your freedom - that if they ever get in a bind with the law, that they would have the integrity to not throw you to the wolves?

Personally, I only trust my immediate family that much, and some of them not so much (or at all), but the point would be moot since they are exempt from the law (for now).

Anybody else, especially a stranger - nope. I do not trust them with my freedom. I do not know them from Adam.

Heh..... I won't even co-sign on a loan for ANYONE. My oldest son (23) didn't make payments on his car for 3-mos. and I found out about it because of the delinquency notice (addressed to me as co-signer ) in the mailbox... went online and saw my credit rating dropped from the VERY high 700's to the low 600's.... I went straight in and made the account current, then I went home and applied some black "ink" to his left eye.... he was actually stunned at me, but he got the message.

Surprised this thread is still active.

1. Any nimrod that will tell a brand new member to break the law seems very fishy all the way around.
2. Why would a seller ever try and circumvent the law and then have a digital record of said idea, if the report is correct.( unless both are plants).
3. Again just as odd someone with a odd looking profile and joined today and has 4 kudos marks, Ive been here 8 years and have just one.( but I]m a arsehole so there is that :p )
4. Like many here our back grounds send up red flags all over.

This was a good exercise, it showed naysayers that we operate above board here as a group and wont stand for anyone trying to break the laws or get others too.
I am sure that this thread being public was sent to others to see if we slip up, if thats the case I have news for them, stop watching the stereotyped gun owners the left is portraying. Many here have high education ;) and many have investigative backgrounds and would not put this group or members at risk to be seen as careless law breakers, proudly everyone stepped up and showed we may not like the laws but unlike the far left we find peaceful ways to resolve issues with the laws. We don't trash building and ruin lives just because we may oppose laws.
