We used to love to drive up to Seattle to catch what ever rock concert was playing ( because OryGun Sucks) and would catch a ball game! Other then Traffic being an absolute night mare, it was a cool, funky city! We used to party hardy in Ballard at the Norse Bars and pubs, and then drive home hung over!
You couldn't pay me enough to venture much past Tacoma now, No way!

I don't even go to Portland any more, we used to hit up all the funky little eateries and micro brew pubs, but not now, no way in hell would I ever venture to Portland, it stinks to hell, Bosnia was almost as bad during the purge, Almost!

The whole Wet Coast is lost, it's all a sh!thole from Boarder to Boarder all along the I-5!

Went to school there in 80-81. I met a wonderful girl that I could have spent my life with. But I couldn't take any more of Seattle, and she wouldn't leave. I miss her dearly, but I've only been back to Seattle three times in 40 years.

As to Seattle, the (dominion?) voters just decided that the King County Sheriff is no longer elected, but a political appointee. The one who appoints him is Dow "Empty the jail, close the youth center!" Constantine. The problem is that the city of Seattle elects the County Executive, since Seatle is within King County. Lose-lose. Thus progressive will appoint progressive and the continuing exodus of police from Seattle will now be transferred to the county as well. Society does not progress, cancer progresses, but I repeat myself.

I manage the PNW for a company from the field. The difference between 1997 and 2020 in both Portland and Seattle...night and day.

The element was always there, but something pushed the scales to that side...from my perspective everything started to go to hell after the whole WTO thing in Seattle.

PDX, I don't know, I once loved that town, bought my 1st home in Laurelhurst...a feat I couldnt repeat today. Maybe its downfall started with too much of a good thing.

I avoid PDX of late, but I still end up sloggin through Seattle often enough...King County is misery, I have an ongoing horror story myself from up there.

Y'know how a 2 year-old that you needed to catch and grab by the arm to stop them from running into traffic, because they saw a doggy on the other side of a busy street?
