So much for the leadership of "Aunt Jenny" and the Seattle City Council...

The Seattle Police Department and 911 dispatch center can now offer hiring incentives to help with staffing challenges.

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan issued an emergency order Friday to allow SPD and the Community Safety and Communications Center to offer hiring bonuses of up to $25,000 for lateral hires and up to $10,000 for new hires, depending on their levels of experience and training

"When residents call 911, they expect an officer to show up – and when they call the 911 emergency line, they expect that someone will answer the phone. Hiring, recruiting, and training takes months, and we need to act now to ensure we can have trained and deployable staff," Durkan said in a press release Friday.

Not to worry Seattle......
From the article.
Seattle is coming armed with much better salaries and more frequent raises. Starting salary for a police officer in Honolulu is $65,592 per year versus $81,444 for a newly sworn officer in Seattle. For veteran officers, the pay gap is even larger.
Police officers with more than four years of experience in Seattle can make $110,000 in base pay, according to Mike Fields, SPD's executive director of human resources. In Honolulu, an officer with five years' experience makes a base pay of $68,000.
Yeah....about half way through my career with HPD there was a similar recruitment effort from various agencies in the PNW. Yup.....we lost many good officers because of the pay issue.

BUT, But, but....in Hawaii....
You get Paid in Sunshine. LOL.

History has a way of repeating itself.

And speaking of that other Liberal $%*! Hole on the left coast.
What about the officers from Porlandia's Police Bureau?
From the article.
"The community shows zero support. The city council are raging idiots, in addition to being stupid. Additionally, the mayor and council ignore actual facts on crime and policing in favor of radical leftist and anarchists fantasy. What's worse is ppb command (lt. and above) is arrogantly incompetent and cowardly," one retiring detective wrote.

"The only differences between the Titanic and PPB?" he continued. "Deck chairs and a band."

And as high as the cost of living is in Seattle, Hawaii is even higher from what I can tell. So that would be pretty tempting to an LEO just getting by in Hawaii.
