Teen, awaiting trial for 74-year old's murder, arrested for trying to buy gun

SO he is CHARGED with the murder, awaiting trial yet is essentially 'free' and not being held in jail?

I know someone right now in LA county jail for shooting someone. Clear case of self defense. Losing everything. Not roaming around doing more crimes.

About half way through 1967 I got my first R & R and went to Bangkok for a week. The Army put us up, two to a room, in a hotel they
had chartered for R & R GI's. I got up to my room and was getting ready to change into civvies and flipped on the room TV. I watched as
I changed. The program was suddenly interrupted and there it was. The Thai Army or police had three guys bound and were marching
out to three poles in the ground. They were strapped to the poles. I quickly flipped through the channels and the same thing was
on every channel. I sat back and watched. It was a firing squad and the three guys had committed some kind of drug offense.
They shot all three at the same time. Very effective illustration of justice.

The fact that a person awaiting trail for murder is out and about in society only reaffirms my believe that society is doomed to reset itself majorly hard.
