Honestly it would be that awful if it weren't for that stupid stock. Don't get me wrong, its still pretty awful but man does that buttstock make it look horrible.

I agree with the buttstock. the Grizzly Custom Tac Lever at least kept the straight stock and only changed forearm for a nice 3 rail unit that mounts like a Marlin forearm.

i'd just buy it and change the rear stock out..or get a cheap Marlin and have a 'smith build a rail foreend....or order Grizzly Custom's Marlin 3-rail foreend.

Argue with Clint Smith of Thunder Ranch fame. He had an article about such a rifle. He also likes a side by side double 12 with a fat rubberband holding a flashlight in place between the barrels. Don't diss the rifle until you do a full assesment of its usefulness. Greydog.
