:D Alaska it is then. :s0093:

If you have to live under a new government then it may as well be one we all know.

And as an added bonus, you can see Russia from your front porch!

Ron Swanson as president. Neat.

I'm curious who will be portrayed as the villains? Seems like everyone's the bad guy in that trailer...

"Three-term Presidency". Seems pretty clear they're talking a Fed Govt that's out of control  with Ron Swanson, probably to demonstrate the "dangers" of Trump-like populist cultic personalities?

Nick Offerman is a super-lefty, as I understand it. I can already guess what the themes of the movie are gonna be, and it won't be painting us gun owners in a positive light.

It looks more like a giant ego stroke for people with a press pass. Story revolves around them.. and they have their little lanyard press pass necklaces.

Due to the director, I'll still see it, I could be wrong.. it could be half decent.

Also, has a pretty silly premise that Texas and California would team up and secede. California is fed boy deep state through and through. No matter how many California parasites flee to other more fiscally appealing states.. Texas would not team up with California.

Was it the guy with the red glasses? I bet it was the guy with the red glasses.

Having spent some time in Alaska, I believe that Russia would not have an easy time taking control there. Perhaps destroying the population "centers." Beyond that, it would be a morass.

On a similar note, the present socialist governments in the Western states would collapse without the votes of the population centers. They extend their power over the hinterlands as long as the hinterlands don't see it as an existential threat. Once it passes that point, control becomes problematic. The urban masses could become restless if things get tough.

Movies like this make you wonder if the scriptwriters get their cocaine in five-gallon buckets.

My wife and I watched the new Julia Roberts movie "Leave the World Behind" last week. It should have been named "Self-Indulgent Liberals Face the End of the World". The plot was obviously manipulated to include phony racist, sexist, and other liberal causes, and they make the plot wander randomly. For me, it was unwatchable, so I kept busy doing something else and just monitored the idiocy.

New movie coming out about another civil war in America. Looks interesting and will come out the spring before the election so it should market well.

Watch the video and see if you can think about survival. Run and hide or leave the country? What would most do?

No wonder young people are prepping now.

I give about a .00001% chance of this type of event happening in the near future. The overall reaction to Jan 6th protest pretty much showed how little appetite there is for really rocking the boat.

I recall in the miniseries "Jericho" where there was a US civil war and Texas was an independent third nation. Really interesting premise in that mini series with some excellent acting (major dad actor Sol from the movie snatch) and some not so great acting. Kind of a soap opera feel to it which is too bad. They set off nukes in key cities as part of a coup and there was a virus that large corporations controlled the vaccine for. I think it was made in 2003ish.

Small remote town had to reconstruct itself basically after being cut off from outside world after the nukes, all the while not knowing what was going on in the country or why.

Despite the shortcomings all the stuff you might see in a SHTF scenario is there, no communications, food, power. People trying to survive, maintain order etc. flipping intense show as I recall.
Texas has wanted to be an independent nation ever since they had to have Uncle Sam rescue them from Mexico . Theyre just biding their time.
