I was a teenager and my dad was stationed in Germany back in the day, while play army in the Forrest outside Darmstadt I found a old rusted out Luger. Like a dumb bubblegum i showed it to the kids I was playing with. Shortly after I got home the Polizei showed up at the house and confiscated it. I didn't tell them the correct area where I found it. I went back out there several times with a metal detector and searched for more loot, all I was ever able to find was an old U.S. Army coat Button that unfortunately I have no idea what the hell I did with it.

Bump!!!

Where's some new stories?!

I just re-read this whole thread. I really want to read the ifish thread again but won'5 iphone won't let me go past the 20th post?
Anyone else have this issue or is it my phone/software?

I really wanted to read the story again about the boy who got lost and was surrounded at night by shadowy figures until his family found him. For some reason it stuck with me.

You know better than to believe those folks over at that "other" site,,, their fishermen for crying out loud!
Kinda like the guy that raises one arm out to his side and says, ever hear the one about the one armed fisherman that caught one this big?;)

Anyone ever encounter a random set of stairs in the woods?

Odd question Joseph,,
Yes as a matter of fact there is a set of old, old stairs climbing up into an old growth tree at the apex of south greenpoint in the cascade head experimental forest
Near my home.
It's very delapitaded and just appears to go up a hundred feet or more with no platform at the top.
Not sure if it was an unfinished fire watch or just what it was for.
It would be the "stairway to heaven" if one were to attempt to climb it now though.

It's definitely an odd question, and it didn't help that I left it open ended like that :D

I was reading stories written by a SAR guy and a couple others about random stairs in the woods and a supposed correlation with strange happenings, disappearances and such. I'm sure it's BS, but it wasn't the first time I've heard about it.

Seen my share of naked folks in the woods. Once at Jean Lake near Hood a buddy and I were fishing and a couple came down, stripped nekkid and swam around for a bit. Didn't seem to mind us at all.

Another time camping along Lake Mead we watch a guy drive up in a Prius, strip down and then shove off in his kayak.

The weirdest one was probably walking through the Founders Grove of redwoods in California on a quiet weekday I noticed someone up ahead with a video camera and another guy putting a shirt on. I thought maybe I walked right into a porno shoot. I could tell they saw me, so I hovered around for a few minutes letting them get cleaned up or whatever before I walked past them. Turns out it was a group making some sort of ninja movie.

I was hunting outside of Enterprise a few years ago, and I walked into a clearing. In the middle of the clearing there was a stump, and on that stump sat the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.

She was barely dressed, and her black hair spilled over her shoulders and framed her gorgeous face. She smiled and gave me a come hither look I felt it my boxers.

I slowly walked up to her, and when I got close enough I asked, "Are you game?". She smiled and said that she was, so I shot her.

:D

But did you have a tag?

Yes, while walking back from seeing Minoh Falls in Japan.
The falls feed a river (obviously) and there's a trail that goes right along the river, all the way back down to the parking lot (in those days one rode in a large ornate wagon pulled by the biggest horse I've ever seen, up the trail. Alas, I understand one now rides a bus to get there).
On the way back down, we decided to take a break and sit down by the river. I noticed some concrete steps on the other side that went up the hill.
Being a young lad back then, I was curious, so I let everyone know where I was going and that I'd be back soon.
I walked so far up, I actually thought I was gonna meet Jesus. Man those steps went up high!
When I finally got to the top of the hill, I noticed they went right down the other side.
I started down when I noticed there was a small temple way off in the distance, maybe 4 hills away.
Through the jungle I could just make out....more steps!.
These were the type of steps where you took one (small) step up but you had to take two steps forward to reach the next step (they were huge!).
At that point, I figured I was better off back with the group and to tell the truth, the humity of the Japanese summer was starting to get to me, so I went back.
About 10 years later, I was living in Seattle and had a job at the top of Queen Anne Hill.
Without a car and not 100% trusting of the bus system, I figured it was close enough for me to just hoof it (I lived in Belltown in those days).
First couple of days, I walked straight up (and down) Queen Anne Avenue. If you know downtown Seattle, the statement "Marion ain't got nuthin' on Queen Anne Avenue!" may put you in a slight state of awe.
One day, I was walking back home and out by Olympic Pizza (anyone remember that place?) I noticed some concrete steps going up behind the place. Having the rest of the day on my hands, I decided to explore and went up the steps.
It took me to the base of one of the TV towers up there, then another set started on the other side, going back down.
I ended up on Taylor Ave, which is road on the "back" side of Queen Anne.
I noticed the walking was MUCH easier going that way and that became my route to work every day.
Before my tenure there ended, I found there are actually several sets of stairs that wind all up and down Queen Anne Hill. One of them dumped me off near Kerry Park (where all those postcard pics of Seattle are taken). Wish I'd had a camera back then. Saw some nice views while I was there.

My wife and I were driving up to a hot springs in the High Sierra foothills near Bishop Calif. As we were approaching the springs there was a nude figure with beautiful flowing blond hair standing on top of a rise above us. My wife yelled, "Don't look!" About that time the blond turned around and I yelled, "Don't look!" It was a dude.

"Stairs in the Forest"....On the Wilson river Highway OR 6, near the Foot Bridge trail head is a set of stairs on the south side of the highway, appearing to go nowhere. But they do, go up to Bridge Creek Falls. Seems weird, to me, because they really don't need stairs, and the stairs look really old.

I`ve been having trouble with trespassers the past couple months and while out mapping their routes I came across this L-shaped hole. The photos are about a month old and it`s still there, but now there`s a coyote turd in it as well. I added the AK mag and zippo for scale and the crappy paracord bracelet for the compass.
