DAMASCUS, Ore. -- Guns were stolen during a burglary at a Damascus Bi-Mart store early Monday morning, police said.

Deputies responded just after 1 a.m. to a burglar alarm inside the store, at 20000 SE Highway 212, said Deputy Marcus Mendoza of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

Responding deputies found the burglar had broken into the store through the roof, Mendoza said. He added that guns were stolen, but did not say how many. Employees were working to determine what else had been taken.

The suspect knew where to find the keys to gun safes, and police were looking into the possibility it was a former employee.

Deputies searched the area with the help of an Oregon City Police K-9 unit, but did not find the suspect.

Anyone with information was asked to call (503) 723-4949, or submit a tip online here.

Hope none of them show up here.
