my best times were with the pistol to the left. on one occasion i outscored the hands down fastest competitor at tri county. its a great platform if the ammo cooperates.

I only wish... it will take a rotary cannon to keep pace with you Mr. Shack.
I think I'll have to find a club that operates under steel challenge rules which require a hammer down first shot in production as that was the thing I was most wanting to work on (and i don't think i will get home early enough to tear apart my gun and switch safeties). Perhaps next month I'll have to find a 5th mag for my .22/45 and shoot rimfire for fun.
I'm not sure if I misunderstood some of this conversation, but I wanted to offer a comment that may be relevant and help clarify something. On a DA/SA handgun that also has a manual safety you can start hammer down (decocked by mechanism if one exists, or hammer completely lowered if no mechanism exists - consistent with USPSA Production rules), or cocked with the manual safety engaged.
Best,
ac

Come to Wolverton Mt.'s Open Speed Steel Practice next weekend. $10 to shoot, and plan on shooting and not just watching. Bring a 10/22 or a pistol / PCC with at least 5 magazines and get in on the fun. (If you don't have quite 5 magazines that's okay, your squad mates will stuff rounds in for you but it's best if you have them). Bring a empty chamber indicator too it you have it, you can borrow one for sure if you don't.Well, I've embarrassed myself quite a bit in my life already, so I'll pass this time on Tri-County.
The Wolverton Range is OPEN if you want to observe. Then, I'll see what I need to prepare for before I bring someone else down as a team-mate.
Thanks for the offer, though. I appreciate it.
@BWH should have some very cool pics of the match. Looking forward to seeing them via email.
It's really cool that he came out to "shoot" with us. Can't wait to see his finished work!Talk about "speed" shooting... he took over 2100 pics using burst, operated via his cell phone, about 5 frames a second. He is doing some editing/deleting bad/blurry ones.
soon as I get something, will figure best way to share!
