PNW has some awesome shooting spotsDang, looks like a dream
Arrive on a range dressed like that in Europe and you are likely to leave it horizontally and leaking profusely from sundry holes in your very own zip-up rubber suit. Finally took my HK Mk23 out for some range time. Just for fun, I decided to cosplay Benicio del Toro in Sicario.
First shots suppressed cleared out all the oil and that first shot was pretty loud. Once it warmed up it was fine though. Also had a couple of dud rounds as well. It was a fun session.
Its about as loud as an air rifle or cap gun. Same as on my 1911A1 but I did get a little blowback this time. Wear eye protection.
With the exception of the guns and balaclava, I wear all the gear at work. I was thinking of a "Tears of the Sun" cosplay with Bruce Willis but I wasn't sure if my hair would grow back if I shaved it.Arrive on a range dressed like that in Europe and you are likely to leave it horizontally and leaking profusely from sundry holes in your very own zip-up rubber suit.
Not necessarily from the response of law-enforcement agents, either. At any time there are likely to be two or three ex-military fellow members on the range, all with experience of home-grown terrorism right here in UK, any of whom might pre-empt the arrival of the boys in blue with their own machinery. We are all cut from the same cloth - more likely to apply the paddles of the handy resuscitator to your temples rather than your chest.
Were you the only person dressed up like that?
So do urban terrorists. 'Cosplay'? With live ammunition? 'Snake Eater from Metal Gear Solid'?With the exception of the guns and balaclava, I wear all the gear at work. Still might so stay tuned…
Anyway, this is all in fun, not serious training.![]()
I haven't been an "urban terrorist" since I got back from Afghanistan…So do urban terrorists. 'Cosplay'? With live ammunition? 'Snake Eater from Metal Gear Solid'?
I know - 'Murca!!!!!
That looks like a fun place to shoot!
I recognize that place!
At one of the clean-ups afterward, one of the guys stepped up with a S&W 460 revolver. My opinion of it, from about 5 positions down the firing line, was there was disturbance in the FORCE! The line of guys all backed up! It had a halo like that, though not exactly like that. I think it was air molecules being rearranged and getting the hell out of there..Over Labor Day weekend, my wife and I and some friends went camping on some private property in Scio, Oregon.
I got some pictures of my friend shooting two of my 357's, and using the same load, my 6 inch GP 100 made a big flash, but my 3 inch SP 101 produced fire halos. I have never seen this effect before, and I thought it was kind of cool.

Love that gun. I have only the Taurus clone version but very fun gun and very accurate (meaning easy to shot accurately). Got some 44 special loads for it the other day but have never shot those out of it. I'd love to find a Eugene tackleberry version like 11"? 12"? Someday.I recall shooting my 8 3/8th Model 29 in an early morning mist - it's hard to describe but it looked like a three-foot diameter halo of cotton candy!
