Me in black, training a soldier before he deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Local Army National Guard Unit. Our local PD organized some range training for them as well as some building search training etc... When they returned they made a point of thanking us for what they said was probably the best training they got before going into action. We only used veterans for our training cadre for that. At least a third of our PD personnel were veterans at that point.
What gun is that? Service issue?

I've got a 45 1911 on my belt. The soldier has a Taurus clone of a Beretta 9mm. At the time, the Beretta 9mm was the service weapon. Oddly they were not allowed to use their Army weapons in this training, so we scrounged up enough Berettas and clones to provide the training ourselves. Each pistol was used by a lot of guys and they just kept on working. One of the better points of the Beretta design - excellent reliability.
Me? I'm a 1911 guy through and through since the Marines taught me to use one a rather long time ago.

My new Rugged Obsidian 45 thanks to Adaptive Firing Solutions. I put a threaded barrel in my 1943 Colt 1911A1. The vids start without suppressor then suppressed. It was not loud enough to ring my ears but you could tell it was a gunshot.

It's been two years since my Granddaughter has been able to go shooting with me and today was the day. Her and her "Rat Hammer" didn't forget a thing, letting loose 300 rounds of CCI 36gr MiniMags. Even the RSO was impressed. Makes Papa proud.
