I think the best shooting pictures there are, are ones with our children with big "gee dad, this is fun" smiles on their face. When we go plinking I let my son take something he would like to blow away - in this case a very and I mean very annoying Hallmark Shop Valentine's day singing dog that his grandpa gave him- you know the ones you push the "press here" button and you are sorry you did. Just don't tell grandpa what happened to it - mums the word.

Saturday was good - Took the kids out for the first half of the morning, and while my brother manned the table, I was range officer. Fun, safe time for all!

After the kids left with mom, we stayed and tested pistol loads, and I learned a few lessons:

1: After a complete tear down, including the adjustable rear sight assembly, it is wise to check POI prior to chrono'n.

2: A 155gr XPT @ 1,350fps is terminal, at least to a chronograph.

A polite reminder, to myself:

My brother's reaction was "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID IT AGAIN!".

Warranted, I feel :D

My condolences.

I've heard that there are essentially two kinds of people when it comes to shooting over the chronograph: those that have shot the chronograph and those that are going to shoot the chronograph.

I know which group I'm in.

I just joined "Those that have" Friday. Testing my new AR in 7.62X40WT. Made the mistake of adjusting the scope AND changing POA at the same time. Sierra 110 gr. HP @ 2420 fps. Saved the battery!!
I think the machine was defective since the "ERROR" light didn't come on.

Classic, I see you are from Federal Way. I live in Puyallup. Where did you go to shoot your 50 cal? The Upper Nisqually Rifle and Pistol Club down in Eatonville has 50 cal competition shoots on there 500 yard range. From what I hear they have pushed that back to 700 yards. Very nice and clean range.

There is a private range in Kettle Falls that goes out over 1000 yards. I was banging the gong at 1032 yards.
The owner has built an old west town at the entrance to the range - really nice!
The owner has an agreement with Bull hill (dude ranch) where I went to a wedding. Everyone brought every firearm on my bucket list and we had the range to ourselves.
