Did anybody see oboma's ''speech'',yesterday afternoon, right after the shooting? First , he talked for a couple of minuets about the shooting. Then almost in the same breath, cut away and started knocking Romney, and congress, what a tool!! Some day he's going to slip off that ''apple box'' and hurt himself.

The only thing that pisses me off are the people that but something then add 50-100% to the price n try to sell it

Well to be honest about it, its called business, supply and demand.
Those that want it pay for it those that don't ..... just dont buy it.
Profit is how people eat and pay bills and provide pay checks to employees. Simple free enterprise.
Its what made America prosper before socialists got involved.

In the event that another ammo/magazine crash happens, and I hope it doesnt, I would appreciate hearing a lot less whining about stockpiling/hoarding/buying in bulk! I still have mine, bought before most of these terrible shootings. Sounds like a good idea now, whiners, doesent it?

True, but I guess I'd rather be fair n honest instead of lining my pockets

Makes your trading stock go up in value too, so its a wash.
Until people wise up and stop electing left wing social communists things wont get better, so make the best of it. The economy only tanks under the left and prospers under the right. Tis the way it works.

Turns out the that crappy media reporting put us on a wild goose chase. The entire assault was performed with a shotgun he purchased at a gun store in Virginia. THis entire rampage was performed not with a deadly assault rifle, but with a deadly assault shotgun. I suppose we must look into banning shotguns to prevent further attack on Military bases. LOL

A federal official said the 34-year-old contractor recently paid about $540 to buy the 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition at a gun store in Virginia and took them to the Navy Yard Monday morning.

Contrary to earlier reports provided by law enforcement officials, Alexis was not believed to be in possession of an AR-15 rifle, the official said.

Gunman believed to have assembled shotgun in men's room

Well, what can I say? I always said a shotgun would make a much more efficient close range carnage weapon than an AR-15 and yesterday's attack has proven it. AR-15's are good weapons for close to mid range combat/defense where precision is important, but nothing would beat a shotgun for walking into a crowded building with unarmed people and just unleashing as much lead and carnage as quickly as possible.

I suppose Farmer Bob won't be able to go duck hunting this year because average citizens cannot be trusted with these deadly killing machines.

Affirmative Action probably played a big role for the reason he was able to get or keep his security clearance as well as having a job within the naval yard. There, I said it. Somebody had to!
Yes, I would have to agree this might be why he got an Honorable Discharge, and the Navy just said, Sorry Charlie, you are not eligible to reenlist and think he was out of their hair. I would have thought any firearms beef would be a felony and keep him from a Secret but apparently not. Time to make sure these contractors are a little cleaner. But I am guessing for a Secret Clearance they did little more than fingerprint the guy and run an NICS check. And if Podunk Sheriff's department is overworked and understaffed then the felony doesn't get filed with the national system possibly.

Agreed, if you aRe buying for your own use whether to shoot or SHTF I think its fine, I would too if finances allowed. But to buy for one price and then double it, bubblegum you. maybe a 20% mark up is reasonable for storage and covering your original investment/you n ow need money, etc. is cool. But I think its immoral to take gross advantage like the 50% to 100%. me, i just vote with my wallet and don't pay that. It works for parts, true, I paid 2x more during the panic for a lower from the mfgr. now same mfg. I can get it for a reasonable price now. But now I have a pre 2nd ban EBR if that new ban comes down the road so I am not happy I had to pay a premium, but can live with what I had to pay for it.
I simply refuse to buy 22lr. for more than 10 cents a round. my choice.
YMMV

Them is some awfully long blocks you speak of... 2.4 miles maybe but yeah, understaffed by LEO's...

My bad.. That's what I get for trying to acquire my facts from the media.. I actually took that information right from ABC or some other news source. Actually, I don't even know exactly where the naval yard is located, but just was reading in news article it was "blocks from the Capitol". Although still within a 5 mile radius of the Capitol is quite close for such an attack.

I quit worrying about price.
If I need it, I'll just pay whatever it is.
I actually buy very little. I prefer to trade and barter. Both sides go away happy to get what they need.

Just to add, apparently the two handguns were recovered from fallen guards:

Authorities recovered three weapons, including a shotgun that investigators believe Alexis brought onto the base, federal law enforcement sources with detailed knowledge of the investigation told CNN on Tuesday. The other two weapons -- handguns -- may have been taken from guards, the sources say.

Earlier information that Alexis may have used a semiautomatic AR-15 rifle may have been incorrect, the sources said.

Original story dissolves, so press demonizes pump shotgun

As the original narrative about Monday's mass shooting at the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters in southeast Washington, D.C. involving an AR-15 rifle is dissolving, the new demon in the revised story now appears to be the Remington Model 870 shotgun that the Daily Mail on-line breathlessly gasps "can load six shells at once."

Now cue the cries for everyone who ever took an anti-depressant to become a prohibited person and of course the obligatory gun-control hysteria.

Bad people do bad things occasionally. It's called life. Deal with it and move on. But no, the politicians will hold hearings and try to "do something," even though nothing they propose would have "done something" to prevent this latest act of evil.

"Taking guns from wounded or dead shooting victims does not involve background checks, waiting periods, licensing or any other regulatory hoop through which a killer must jump in order to be armed."

Hey Dave, you forgot to add the need for a CHL permission. :s0155:

They need to give us our 2nd Amendment back...Federal and State.

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
