What front sight is that? Looks like the rear is still stock?

Have you ever tried the "V" notch Rear Sight?

I think a combination of these would be ideal for a woods gun.
@KKG , can you recommend a good V-notch rear?

The "V" has been around a good long time since it's pre 1885 and I've found it works well on Targets. I point shoot my Carry Guns so "no Sights" works for me. Brownells has carried the "V" in the past. I'll have to look.

I saw the thread title and my mind went another direction... to
seeing this kind of "smith and wesson model" 69
