The ignorance of personal right and how important they are in this country is hard to understand. The majority of people I work with have advanced degrees. A significant amount have military experience.

95-98% haven't a clue or given much thought that the pending laws to the gun culture have far reaching implications to their day to day lives. Say one day that $60k sports car will be deemed a murder vehicle and the state confiscated it with no compensation. We already gave them permission under the guise of common sense gun control.

There is also a distinct possibility that they may need these rights at some point in the future. I hear many in Venezuela are not happy about being disarmed :s0003:

~33,000 police officers in NJ. 3 million households. 389 cops per 100,000 people

No offence to any of the LEO's here but cops are not there to risk their lives, they are there to collect secondary taxes through tickets and civil forfeitures (100% of the money the police steal goes to the police in NJ, no conviction required)

Yeah they got SWAT for storming houses but absolutely no way ever are the police at large going to go door to door to find gun owners without the full force of the military doing it for them

They will just be lazy about it. Like searching cars when they pull them over or arresting victims of crime who happen to have a magazine on them.

You remember that Red Flag case in Maryland a few weeks ago. Police did a stellar job; they killed the man they was trying to protect; in theory from suicide. Great job they did.

To bolus: I am guessing that NJ Police having to deal with lots of NJ citizens that are animals and have acquired an attitude; if you are not a man or women in blue you are a bad guy. Just sayin'. Maybe NJ Police have a similar attitude as those poor unfortunate trapped police in the great City of Chicago?

Wait. They're comin' for muh porn?!?

LOL....there already is a proposal out there wanting/demanding to know your passwords to various social media sites.

Huh?
Gun permit seekers would see social media searched under New York bill

And LOL.....of course you can expect that they'll be wanting more at some point. So, why not also having access/looking at/checking/finding out your internet search history for porn? Or, checking your household?

You know.....they need it.....to save just one life. Isn't it worth giving up your FREEDOM?

The gun census guy is quite possibly the winner of "Biggest Idiot of the Year Award, 2018". And that is really saying something considering the parade of jackassery we've seen. Some Trotskyite mouth-breather coming to my door, without a warrant, demanding an inventory of firearms and to dig through all my property? Yaaaaa ... that ain't happening. :s0165:

Gun permit seekers Senator from "Brooklyn" New York. Idiot; and what more would be expect from down to earth New Yorker's. What is the name of that idiot anti-gun US Senator from Brooklyn, New York? Or, does he represent Harlem? NY seems to be a breeding ground for idiot, leftist, anti-gun politicians. And, these folks influence our country?

It's not possible to go house to house searching for anything in any state statewide.

The threat of it would work though. Government understands the idea of divide and conquer. Target a few homes where they are sure to get results (where they have some intel that mags exist and can be found), go raid those, and this would spur compliance. Screw up and raid some innocent family who doesn't even own guns, or worse, someone innocent who resists and is armed, and then the fecal matter would hit the fan.

I think (hope) they understand that, but you never know. It is New Jersey after all.

In April of 1775 the English Army went to Concord to confiscate arms ( to include a privately owned cannon)...we should all know , just how that turned out.

Now the question remains : Are we made of the same stuff as those folks who stood on Lexington Green on the 19th of April 1775...?

Amen Brother! There will be a small percentage of us who will, just as our founding fathers did.

It's coming, one bite, one nibble at a time. But it is coming....

And, Concord today......

Hummmm........

I can remember an entire country that left it to the discretion of the Govt to decide who was worthy of gun ownership. Yup, only those who were deemed not to be enemies of the state and/or belong to a certain political party were given the OK to own firearms.

While those who were not?

Well, being unsuitable, a lot of them died as the guests of the government.

Could History repeat itself?

Hence my question :

Andy
Should we believe data from Massachusetts? When their big ivory League Universities have been discredited in their gun control findings? Reducing gun violence rates through background checks is only one variable among many; the opposite case in point is gun controlled Chicago with one of the highest gun violence rates in the USA. No unbiased reporting from Boston or Huff Post? Never happen.

No. Very few of us are. It will take more than the threat of confiscation to set off a civil war.

I was not taking of the threat of confiscation...but the as in the case of April 19th 1775... the actual attempt of confiscation.

I know where I stand on this..and in no way am I the same as Johnathan Parker...but I would like to stand on the right side of that line , when it comes down to it.
But I also understand that many will not think like I do and may be on the other side of that line.

What you posted , I do agree with but it still does not answer my question...

Threat of confiscation includes targeted confiscation today - it has to. As pointed out, there are just too many gun owners today to make wholesale confiscation practical even if every owner was compliant enough to allow search and seizure.
