A) We have a dangerous person. (Dangerous enough to be in jail)
B) That person becomes non-dangerous (somehow) and is released from jail.
C)Yes, the non-dangerous person released from jail ought to be able to do whatever other non-dangerous people who are out of jail can do. (like own guns)

The problem is that people are being released from jail who are still dangerous.
And people are not yet in jail who are dangerous.
