Both ARE 1911s! Sig simply made a few minor changes to not run afowl of the then current 1911 patent holders, nothing more! No, not a 1911. The Kimber micro9 is closely related to the Sig P938
Uh, no. What makes you think it is a 1911? Not a single part interchanges, and uh.......the "patent" on the 1911 expired in like 1928.Both ARE 1911s! Sig simply made a few minor changes to not run afowl of the then current 1911 patent holders, nothing more!
No parts need to interchange to still be 1911's, the simple facts are, BOTH pistols ARE 1911's HARD STOPUh, no. What makes you think it is a 1911? Not a single part interchanges, and uh.......the "patent" on the 1911 expired in like 1928.
Sir, you are correct in that they "look" identical...almost, it's that forward scallop on the slide that really throws people off. Note no grip safety, internals and trigger functions are different. Put a Sig next to it, and you will see that those controls line up, and actually shares parts with a Sig...magazines for one. The Kimber website has a separate section for the Micros, separate from the 1911 page. Most people assume that it's a Kimber, and it LOOKS like a 1911, so it must be, but no.Hmmm…. Sure looks like a mini 1911 to me…. But what do I know, I'm just and old schmuck…
