Sir, you are correct in that they "look" identical...almost, it's that forward scallop on the slide that really throws people off. Note no grip safety, internals and trigger functions are different. Put a Sig next to it, and you will see that those controls line up, and actually shares parts with a Sig...magazines for one. The Kimber website has a separate section for the Micros, separate from the 1911 page. Most people assume that it's a Kimber, and it LOOKS like a 1911, so it must be, but no.
I'm not trying to be a dick, just clarifying.
