You know my dad used that argument about the coffee once. Having a minor in chemistry I politely informed him the reason decaf was considered "bad" at one time was because of the chemicals they were using to strip the caffeine from the coffee at the time. They have since changed their method and hence the anticipated risk is no longer an issue.
