Ended up getting my first 10/22 for around $175. Older model. Now I need some optics and a new stock preferably.

I put a Hogue stock on one of mine a few weeks ago. I am upgrading the sights with a set of Tech Sight aperture sights later on this week. Enjoy the new rifle!

I love the 10\22! I had one in high school which I gave to a friend when I went into the Army. Bought a replacement for it in Ft Hood in 1986. Its been a dependable shooter. Replacement parts are cheap and plentiful and the thing simply takes a beating. I found an unused black anniversary stock at the gun show back in the fall for about 15bucks. My daughter put it on and now the thing looks pretty darned good again.
Congrats on your purchase. Its a lifelong gun for sure.
