I didn't see in the article that the perp was even hit. It just says returned fire. No mention of if the guy was actually shot or not.

Accuracy is hard to come by when getting a combat grip might mess up wet nail polish.

Notice the glaring lack of personal pronouns for the good guy with a gun? Imagine the confliction, the tightrope that Fox News reporter had to walk if the nail salon customer really was a person of vague, indeterminate gender.
