GW Bush committed over 2 trillion dollars (ultimate costs) to seek out this fool. He even invaded a country unrelated to the 9/11 attacks under Cheney's 1% rule - if there is a 1% chance of an Iraqi link w/ bin Laden, take the whole place out. During this whole mess, nothing but fawning admiration from the right wing patriots. Now Obama actually gets the guy behind the mass murders in NYC and DC, worst attack on our soil since Pearl Harbor, and the President is being called a "worthless piece of socialist detritus" and a "sorry commie". So tell me why this talk is not treasonous BS.

I heard a talking head say this evening that wikileaks was dropping info on some of OBLs BFFs that had been talking at GitMo.
If/When OBL caught wind of that he would of headed out of town again. This forced the POTUS hand to act quickly.
I am about as far from a BHO supporter as you can get, but he made the right decision here regardless of motive. It would have been easy to lob a few bombs on the place and hope for change.
In addition, the hunt for OBL has gone on a long time. Intel gathered over years was required for this op. You must also credit W and those working on this issue from his admin.
My feeling is that our relationship with Pakistan and what they had to do with this whole thing is the real story here. The next few months will be interesting.

it DOES make sense- kill, rather than capture. take the body and ditch it where it cant be used as propaganda, as well as become a talisman for jihad while in US custody.

at the same time, you'd think they'd see how weird all of that would look, and make steps to ensure all of this could be PROVEN. having a DNA sample and some pictures isn't proof- they ARE, in fact, basically just asking us to take their word for it. "we got him. no, we cant prove it- but we said it, so it must be true."

there's not gonna be any way to disprove it, so we all just need to decide for ourselves what we believe, and move on with life.

We all are familiar with the craziness that went on from mere cartoons of Mohammad, can anyone imagine what the crazy reaction would be in the Muslim world if the pictures of Bin Laden's body were shown? This is just one reasonable explanation for withholding the pictures. But logic will not hold here. There is a legion of paranoid conspiracy theorists here who would not accept a statement from this administration that the sun was hot. Ask yourselves this. Look at all the coverage of this event, paste GW Bush over every image of Obama. Would it all still be fake if someone else was in the White House? I am sure many here who excoriate Obama were falling in lockstep with the WMD stories of the Bush administration. Be honest with yourselves and think about it. There is no honor in clinging to fantasy engendered by hatred. We're all better than that, and there are plenty of honest avenues of opposition to this President.

You mean to tell me the most wanted man in the world is dead and there are no real pics to speak of? Something does not smell right, this does not add up!

I have been told by more than one source that Leon Panetta was directing the operation with both his own CIA operatives, as well as direct contacts with military – both entities were reporting to Panetta only at this point, and not the President of the United States. There was not going to be another delay as had happened 24 hour earlier. The operation was at this time effectively unknown to President Barack Obama or Valerie Jarrett and it remained that way until AFTER it had already been initiated. President Obama was literally pulled from a golf outing and escorted back to the White House to be informed of the mission. Upon his arrival there was a briefing held which included Bill Daley, John Brennan, and a high ranking member of the military. Benazir Bhutto is a respected Pakistan-born Politician and in an interview she claimed that Osama Bin Laden was already dead, killed by Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh. A week later she was killed. Something to think about...

and he even survived TWO count that TWO 500lb bombs directley on his hide out and he survived for about 20 mins while
they tried to keep him alive

Why can't you beleive it? Unfortunately I have tried asking nicely and then expained what will happen and it is having zero effect, so in all likely hood this thread will soon be closed and you will only have yourselves to blame. Stick to the death of Osama Bin Laden and the facts that are slowly coming out. Anything that has to do with political blame game and conspiracy theory will be deleted.

There are plenty of places on the net to wield those words as clubs to pound each other over the head with, NWFA is not that place. NWFA is about 2nd amendment politics, the old saying do one thing and do it well applies here.
