Oregon Resident private transfer from Washington Resident?

I live in Oregon and want to purchase a pistol from a Washington state resident. If I drive to Washington, can we do the transfer at his local FFL dealer in Washington state? Is the procedure different than if the Washington resident sold to another Washington resident?

The transfer of a pistol has to occur in the buyer's state. He can either drive it to an Oregon FFL or send from his FFL to your FFL.

Yup! If it's a rifle, you can go to the seller's state, though.

Works the other way round also if you live in Washington and want to purchase a pistol from an Oregon Resident. They have to bring the Pistol to a WA FFL to do the deal.

Tragically, there are no such things as private transfers any more.
If you are 40 or more, and bought a gun in your twenties (ballpark) you will now make the young's eyes roll as you begin to speak of the "good old days" and instead of counting your blessings are now counting freedoms lost..
