Yea I got other toys to play with that this silly crap doesn't apply to. Grandma always said patience is a virtue and suggested I have one! The Carbine is the one that annoys me the most. I spent a lot of good money building up my cache of std. 15rd magazines and then to have this come along.

You can still use them. It's not like you are going to EDC your carbine. You just have to be careful (locking them up) when transporting them from place to place outside the home.

Wow I'm glad you mentioned that deal because looking at their clearance list there are tons of good deals. Thx for the free ship code also!!!!

30 round Stribog mags for $9. 15-22 mags for $20. Splatter targets are 1/2 - 1/3 the price I've seen elsewhere. Low profile walker 31nrr muffs for $9. Excellent deals there! Much appreciated!
Also noticed cold steel bushman Bowie for $11. Saw an armscorp/rock island 9mm pistol for $229. Don't know anything about it. Looks like a cz-75 clone.

My magazine is safely locked in the magwell of the pistol on my hip.

"Hang on buddy! Time out until I pop the trunk and unlock my pistol, would ya...."

"Ok... on 3...."

For that kind of thing, you buy a Glock (if you don't already have one) and some 10 rd magazines. Or you just carry what you got and take your chances on getting caught. It's only a misdemeanor.

We were talking about his M1 carbine. Presumably, that's not his EDC.

I didn't vote for her but I like the way she is handling this problem so far in our county
She was the only one with actual experience. I talked to her at the Albany Gun Show, very well versed, and I directly asked her about thoughts on 114. The other guy wasn't at his table all three times I went bye to ask him.

The last I heard an Astra A-90 is a handgun (see OP) and perfectly suitable for an EDC. It would have to be locked up seperately (firearm and mag) the same as an M1... without a 10rd mag. To comply with 114 that is....

When did we cut off half the OP's post to only comment on his M1? (I musta missed the memo) :s0155:

Yeah, you're right. I conveniently left that part out.

But he says he's got "other toys," so maybe he's got something else he can find a 10 rd mag for. If not, buy a Glock. Anyway, don't mess with the Astra magazines.

Absolutely agree. If you want to be in compliance outside the home, I would pick up a "hold ya over" pistol vs. crippling the astra mags. Them things are not cheap, not easy to replace and.... who can't use another handgun?

After all... "husband and wife"... that makes 2 shooters... last time I checked. :s0155:

There was always a hope that our liberal cousins, new to gun ownership would see the light and make a difference. Well, that didn't work out.

A lot of people, including gun owners, are pretty narrow focused on gun usage. They take only one or two steps of a long journey and call it good. 80% don't know what they don't know. Most of them will never know.

I lucked into a good group and finding NWFA as well. Most will end up figuring it out on their own. Not knowing there is the very vital aspect of defending your rights of ownership and deciding how you choose to defend yourself.

The wife and I own one handgun and one rifle that the std. magazine holds more then 10rds.
An Astra A-90 in 9mm that the mags hold either 17 or 19rds depending on if they started out 9mm or .40SW

A M-1 Carbine where the Magazines are all 15 rounds (and I have a BUNCH) This I can get 10rd mags for though I hate buying something I really have no need of.

The big problem is the Astra. No one that I can find ever made a 10rd mag for this pistol in 9mm.There is a 10rd mag in .40SW made for the A-100 that will fit and work but when you use it for 9mm it will hold 11 or 12rds With absolutely no aftermarket makes for a pistol this rare what do I do? DO I have to either damage my existing magazines so they can only hold 10rds or WHAT?

Stupid stupid people that came up with this crap drive me crazy.
Stupid like a fox. You don't think that was planned ? Instant obsolescence without confiscation.
I just wish somebody was out there who could modify old pistol mags. My baby is too young to die on a hook.

Your Astra isn't alone. Try to get one for a S&W 59, 669, 6904, 6906 and the list goes on. Even the modified California 10 rdr's are gone.

Yes I have a number of other handguns that have 10rd or less magazines. And my EDC is a 5 shot revolver or a 8rd 9mm so EDC is well covered.

If you present a CHL, Oregon Law negates showing the firearm to LE.
Why are you voluntarily showing them your CHL? When they run your plates (if the vehicle is registered to you) it will automatically show if you have a CHL. Once they make contact with you and ask about a weapon in the vehicle, you kindly say I don't currently have one on my person. If they don't ask about a firearm then leave it at that. Know your rights.

You're not REQUIRED to show anything. Unless you are being detained/placed under arrest. But even then you have the 4th/5th amendment. Now if you voluntarily give that info/firearm up then that's on you. People with CHLs aren't the ones out committing violence/crime.

Where is the section where the measure has the authority to override concealed carry regulations?
114, which is clearly passing now, doesnt say you cannot carry concealed. It says you cannot transport a 10+ magazine without separating it from the gun.... therefore, you cannot concealed carry a mag over 10 rounds and still be in compliance with the law.

So you can either carry something that conforms to the new laws OR you can bluster about what a hard bubblegum you are and continue to carry your 10+ magazines in your CCW... fine, no one will know... but God help you if you end up using the gun to defend yourself... Lets not fool ourselves here. The courts are not in your favor.... imagine being in a SD shooting and youre carrying an evil assault weapon! Your odds of beating it are a whole lot slimmer.... remember, your potential jury pool probably voted for this law.

This is the price you have to pay for living amongst bubbleguming retards. Universal suffrage and democracy are a joke. Now your friends & neighbors have essentially killed your 2nd amendment rights in OR. You can blame your non voting conservative friends too and the "theyre all the same" boomers at the range.

Turn out was a little over 50% of reg voters. What of the other 50%? even if half of them are invalid... dead, moved away, etc... that leaves 25%.... lets say that half of those are libtards.... that leaves 12.5% of conservatives didnt vote. Thats 750000 likely conservative voters who couldnt be bothered to draw some dots on a piece of paper to save gun rights. SO be pissed at the lefties, be mad at the government..... but ultimately, its us... we are our biggest enemy every time... Every. bubbleguming. Time.

Sure, this will be shot down in the courts eventually because its so badly written and unconstitutional.... but how long does that take? How many gun owners are sat in front of a judge for violating new laws? How many LGS go out of business because they cant sell guns anymore? The gun industry will be devastated in OR before this gets shot down.

I have thought about going there myself.
I know nothing will change if people don't take a stand and fight it but it just feels like a pointless battle here, I just want to be able to focus on working into a career and starting a family and be able to trust that my politicians aren't trying to actively stab me in the back. Having to fight for my rights through my 20s from authoritarian msnbc watching zombies isn't right. Not just in the second amendment since we all know that the people who push for this will not be happy with just this measure. Today is 114. Tomorrow will be ammo restrictions. Next week an awb. The week after, they start limiting speech in the name of social progress and justice. Soon you'll be seeing court battles over hate speech laws akin to the uk. In my lifetime I will likely see attempts to strike down parts of the constitution, as I know without a doubt the people who push for these laws will not ever be satisfied with the "progress" they create. We're being pushed into a social Weimar Republic, and I think oregon is going to be one of the first places to be dragged down the drain with it. Since I was a teenager I've witnessed a large amount if the social decline in Oregon, my town used to be safe. I've had friends jumped by junkies and almost lost my best friend after he got attacked by two guys with box knives. I've had to clear homeless camps from behind my place of work with increasing frequency. The park I played in as a child isn't even safe to be in during the day from people getting mugged or having drug paraphernalia scattered in the bark dust. I've no interest in trying to coexist with people who hate me for my beliefs.

I'm pretty disgusted by the number of people on this forum that didn't have a clue about 114 despite a long running thread with all of the nuances thoroughly described and discussed.
The people who were behind the bill advertised it perfectly. You didn't hear a damn thing about it until about a month ago, positioned the advertisement to appeal to the uninformed masses, the anti police crowd and the fudds since thier hunting rifles and 1911s wouldn't be effected. By the time anyone got the word out about the bill there wasn't enough time to get a decent turnout against it. They counted on bleeding hearts and fools and those are in abundance here.
