Personally... I'm getting sick and tired of this kind of B.S.... putting fault on the gun owning community. I understand the frustration but it does nothing but divide the community.

When the deck is constantly stacked against you in $'s, the media, supression/distortion of facts by the woke that have the taxpayer $'s to back whatever narrative they want... it's a wonder it's as close as it is.

Eating our own is a punk a** move, IMHO.

At 40% of votes counted so far it's not a done deal just yet. Remain hopeful, but be ready to get in your last minute purchases is all's I'm sayin....
I agree. Rather large brushstrokes.

Make it only taxpayers are allowed to have a direct say in how their tax money is spent. Guarantee things would change
I agree with the premise but a lot of low level taxpayers are also flipping burgers with purple hair and their votes probably cancel out a struggling self employed business owner out there somewhere.

Most of those burger flippers aren't making enough money to pay income tax although they're paying into SS, Medicaid/Medicare and some other small taxes... they'll get their refunds and then some.

Not intending to be a downer, but with all the evidence of Mail-in Mules, Hammer and Scorecard, printed ballots in china, etc, etc... do you really think you have a voice in the selection process(unless the military has quietly stepped in to secure them)?

Asking for a friend.

I did vote, by the way... but not entirely sure it matters. I do believe we're going to get what God intended, either way.

Watching the election coverage tonight, I have to wonder, is this really the American voter? Are we just that gullible? That stupid? That uneducated? Do we really bend over and say to the Democrats, who have given us 9% inflation, tax increases, $6 gasoline, foreign policy humiliation, a hot war in Ukraine, a $500 grocery cart, a border wide open to illegal immigration and drugs, and what will soon be a deep recession, "Yes sir! May I have another?"

I am so disgusted. I don't want to hear a single complaint about high prices, gun control, drugs, or crime from ANYONE! All you had to do was vote. You had one job, and you sat on your bubblegum and did nothing. You deserve everything you're about to receive.

I run a Facebook group with 6000+ members. I guarantee you that for the next 12 months we will be inundated with whining from people are just waking up to what's going on, and who refused to lift a finger to benefit themselves and the gun community. I daily deal with people who gripe that "it's no use", "it's all rigged", "the [NRA/OFF/GOA/etc] are working against us", and the ever present "solution" to every issue "Shall not be infringed!!!" Then those very same people will tell you that they didn't bother to vote because "it's no use", "it's all rigged", "the [NRA/OFF/GOA/etc] are working against us", and "Shall not be infringed". Less than half of gun owners generally bother to vote.

So I'm done. I'm done listening to complaints. The first thing I'm going to ask you, as a gun owner, is "Did you vote?" And if you didn't then just shut your mouth. You don't have a voice in my presence.

Way premature. People have already admitted to mailing in their ballots late. Did they really sort them out of the facilities that quickly?
Probably not.

But will enough have voted against it to make a difference?

So far the percentages are holding steady and the number of votes difference is about 20K votes. Some of the counties only have a couple thousand voters total, and it is mostly the rural counties that are voting against 114 (I was surprised to see Marion county vote against it).

CORRECTION: 45% turnout of registered voters.

Oregon has averaged around 70% turnout of registered voters in previous Mid-term Elections (80% in Presidential Election years).
It could be a little bit higher this time around.

By that (70%) metric, with just under 3 million total registered voters in the state, there ought to be (approx.)2,100,000 total ballots returned; with 1,360,000 having already been reported.

That would be roughly 65% of the (expected) total vote in so far.

Yes and the little taxes they do pay, they like to virtue signal with them. They think their money is really paying for better infrastructure and a stronger education system when its really just buying lattes for a teacher in the teachers lounge. They would also think their vote stands for something.

I'd definitely say if you're paying property taxes and other forms of tax outside a basic w2, you should only then be eligible to vote for matters that are specific to land and property ownership. I don't see how anything else is fair really.

I live in Multnomah County. I don't talk or associate with a lot of people but I personally know at least 10 people that voted No on 114. By the percentages, it's scary to think how many people voted Yes per each of our No votes.

Do people really not get what this does? I mean I think people just want "gun safety" and truly didn't read the meat and potatoes and math out how it will affect them or people they know.

Also... did they think about the real costs to implement this? Oh that's right we grow money on trees here in Multnomah County...so no.

The oregonian is the only one i've seen calling 114 passes. Nothing else is showing. Maybe premature? we won't have all of clackamas and yamhill votes till tomorrow they claim.
