I admit, this election has been heavily demoralizing. I'm young, but I'm not sure if I really want to have to spend the next decade fighting for my rights in a state that I don't have many ties to. I know it's not ideal for state rights but this place has been going down the drain for literally my entire life and it seems it's only going to continue to worsen, between rising cost of living and taxes, loss of job opportunities and increasing crime rates I think that moving east might be the ticket. In many other states my income would be respectable but here i dont even make enough to afford an apartment by myself. Wyoming looks quite nice this time of year, you know.
Re going down the drain I told my wife years ago that these problems they are creating are not fixable. Mainly because there "solutions" simply grow the problem bigger.

Fe homeless. Legalizing the new P2P meth creates tons more homeless. Several new taxes such as the 1% business tax and 1.5% personal income tax go toward providing more "services" to homeless. These services enable homelessness by making it easier to live the homeless lifestyle and providing less incentive to get out of homelessness. Creating shelters helps some such as those that want to work but the vast majority won't go there because they cannot live their lifestyle if they do (stealing and drugs). The welcoming culture means more homeless come from all over the nation. Then more taxes for more services, making it more welcoming and so on.

Instead of Filling the swamp they are digging it deeper. Note that I'm talking about those choosing the lifestyle and druggies, and not talking about those
who are legitimately down on their luck and want to work. Imo we should help those get back on their feet and be a productive member of society. Also I don't know what the solution is for the legit mentally ill (not due to the new meth which can make a sane person insane in short order).

Same thing for crime, where they are enabling more crime instead of stopping it, restricting traffic and parking spots for bicycles that never use those streets, which makes it harder to drive so poeple use residential streets because there is no where else to go, etc.

They are making the problems worse with their spending, not better. Pretty soon many houses in pDX will be paying $20,000 per year for property taxes and that is spent on growing the problem bigger, not reducing it. It will be a continuing downward spiral with no way out until something drastic changes. I don't see any responsible leadership in the near future and if we had a responsible leader that tried to fix these problems I don't think they would last long because the voting majority simply does not understand and are incredibly naive. It's completely bass ackwards (speaking for PRX area).

My only hope for Oregon is there are rural communities that continue to use common sense, enforce the law etc. Those places should be good for a long time if they can somehow evade the crazy BS laws that are coming from Salem (Fe if the DA refuses to enable crime and uses common sense). Places like PDX cannot be fixed Imo. We wouldn't be here if we didn't have to for family reasons. I will put up with a lot of crap for my family and extended family. But I don't have to like it.

I wouldn't permanently alter any mags. The mag ban will be ruled unconstitutional, since Cali's ban has already been remanded to the 9th circus. I will buy a few 10 round mags for my carry pistols until this is sorted out.
Man, the ninth circus it's just gonna call a magazine, "an accessory" and they'll say that there's nothing in the 2nd amendment about right to bear accessories lol.

Not trying to debbie downer just saying 🤷‍♂️

Hopefully I will stop blabbering about this ha ha but I think the core of the problem is naïveté and always trying to help the weakest via handouts. Schools are a good example. If standards are lowered for all students so that the weakest members are "equal" to the brightest and hard working then they have created a situation where there is no incentive to improve or excel. And all students suffer. In contrast, if there are rewards for excellence along with help for the weakest to be the best they can be then everyone becomes stronger. lowering standards for everyone to help the weakest hurts everyone and disrespects the individual's potential and gifts. If there were respect for all then all would be encouraged to be the best they can possibly be. Again schools here imo have bass awkwards thinking. Long term I don't know how we will compete globally if students are encouraged to be lazy, rewarded for not trying their best, and work the system to get handouts. Other countries that are promoting excellence and innovation will leave us in the dust. Long term I think a lot depends on the schools. Ok rant off ha ha.

I'm lucky I like the cold then.
Me too, my wife not so much.... It was 13 degrees this morning. Prices are starting to creep up possibly inflation or possible people moving here I'm not sure.

And I just learned this morning from the local paper there is a shortage of snow plow drivers and police so, that will make for an interesting winter. Guess there is a labor shortage everywhere.

To give you an idea of who/where voted for/against 114 - red is against

How heavy are the steel ones? Have tons of ok industries aluminum ones and they feel about the same weight as pmag. I would get steel ones if they are reliable and not too heavy just for kicks.
You feel the weight that's for sure. Everything I've bought has worked, so I'm chalking them up as reliable.

but only 54% of voters are willing to make #SLAVERY a criminal offense

This measure has nothing to do with slavery. It is about requiring the state to pay convicts minimum wage for prison labor. The term slavery was applied by disingenuous people, and a gullible electorate fell for the deception. That's all.

The wife and I own one handgun and one rifle that the std. magazine holds more then 10rds.
An Astra A-90 in 9mm that the mags hold either 17 or 19rds depending on if they started out 9mm or .40SW

A M-1 Carbine where the Magazines are all 15 rounds (and I have a BUNCH) This I can get 10rd mags for though I hate buying something I really have no need of.

The big problem is the Astra. No one that I can find ever made a 10rd mag for this pistol in 9mm.There is a 10rd mag in .40SW made for the A-100 that will fit and work but when you use it for 9mm it will hold 11 or 12rds With absolutely no aftermarket makes for a pistol this rare what do I do? DO I have to either damage my existing magazines so they can only hold 10rds or WHAT?

Stupid stupid people that came up with this crap drive me crazy.

If I received that misdemeanor I would lose the ability to reapply for a CHL for four years. Let alone the cost and legal fees and disclosure on all job applications of a misdemeanor firearm violation. If I then continued to carry and was caught it would require felony prison time. I'm glad you have enough time in life to risk that outcome, but I don't.

Carrying on person, concealed in a car is one of the only times one could get stopped by an officer for inadvertently having a taillight out, accidentally speeding, etc. Which could result in an officer asking if you have any weapons on you or subsequently having the authority to verify that question.
You know you can say "no" even if you have one in the vehicle. If they want to proceed they are required to get a warrant…. Just be aware of the plain view doctrine and what is visible in your car/glove box. Or any compartment that may be opened when retrieving insurance/registration/etc revealing what's inside.

Plus LE doesn't pull traffic anymore. An out tail light is the least of your worries. I apologize if I came across as a d!ck earlier. I'm just over reading everyone rolling over and compromising when it hasn't even passed. It's the exact reason we keep loosing. Personally I'll just be labeled a criminal.

ZERO mag bans have been struck down in over 9 years. But keep your hopes up, I guess.
To that I say...

In all seriousness, the Bruen decision is only a couple months old. It'll take some time for the legal challenges to filter through the courts on a state-by-state basis. I know the waiting sucks, but that's just the nature of our system of government. I strongly suspect some reversals will be heading our way; the challenge to WA's ban is moving forward, and I'm sure one of the major 2A organizations has already filed a challenge to 114 in OR. Don't give up hope and don't panic, just stack em deep while you can, keep an eye on the courts, and do your best to convince your non-2A friends that this pile of crap needs to go.

If I were in your shoes, young, with no ties to this piece of geography because of family or property, I'd be packing my bags. Unfortunately, none of the above apply to me. I think I'd be looking pretty hard at Utah as an alternative. East of the Rockies, the climate becomes more of a factor. I'd avoid tornado alley and hurricane country (been there, done that). I hear western North Carolina is pretty nice. Maine might be attractive for those who like cold weather. I wouldn't go anywhere near the southern border.

The Polynesians used to bash the heads of 'weak'-fragile'/'sickly' children against the rocks, and then throw them off cliffs; back into the ocean(from whence they came). That's why so many of Pacific Islander descent are gnarly buff dudes -- Which also translates quite well to the football field.

Harsh? Perhaps.. But, they were a Warrior-Class, a sort of 'Pacific Spartan' practicing their own brand of Eugenics so-to-speak.

The 'Balance of Nature' has its own design for the weakest animals. The wolves cull them from the herd, which in turn keeps the breeding stock healthy with good genes.

Now, of course, we're humans; bestowed with free-will.
We have developed 'culture'.
We have an inherited inate compassion; a desire to protect the weak, and to help the less advantaged of our tribe(s). From our beginnings as Hunters & Gatherers; we then moved to Agrarian societies and were ruled by Kings that possessed armies that provided our security. The weaker in society were able to find a place that didn't exist at a time when man was immersed in the harsh realities of survival in nature, or not sheltered from the brutality of direct conflict with other warring/invading clans.

The pattern of Hard Times/Strong Men -- > Easy Times/Weak Men -- Hard Times/Strong Men has repeated its circular cycle throughout human history.

This translates to how we've began to approach the current-age. In the raising of our youth, we attempt to stifle competition, shunning individualism and exceptionalism, and at the same time demand a percieved equality in a shared collective of goods and services that is deserved by all; regardless of a shared effort to produce those good and services - Akin to the other animals too lazy to help 'The Little Red Hen', but expectant of their perceived deserved share of bread.

Before going completely off the off-topic rails through the door that you opened here ;) ...........

It's how we've ended up with a society where many people believe that they deserve (and ultimately become dependent on) the perception of safety & security provided by chosen masters, when in fact, that security is there to protect our rulers from us. There exists a nurtured belief that the individual's needs are outweighed by the needs of the collective. Asked: "Why do you need a firearm to protect yourself, when the King's men are better suited for the task?"

Well these two guys were better at words than I...

"The supposed quietude of a good man allures the ruffian; while on the other hand, arms, like law, discourage and keep the invader and the plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. The balance of power is the scale of peace. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside. And while a single nation refuses to lay them down, it is proper that all should keep them up. Horrid mischief would ensue were one-half the world deprived of the use of them; for while avarice and ambition have a place in the heart of man, the weak will become a prey to the strong. The history of every age and nation establishes these truths, and facts need but little arguments when they prove themselves."
-Thomas Paine

The laws of this nature are those which forbid to wear arms, disarming those only who are not disposed to commit the crime which the laws mean to prevent. Can it be supposed, that those who have the courage to violate the most sacred laws of humanity, and the most important of the code, will respect the less considerable and arbitrary injunctions, the violation of which is so easy, and of so little comparative importance? Does not the execution of this law deprive the subject of that personal liberty, so dear to mankind and to the wise legislator? and does it not subject the innocent to all the disagreeable circumstances that should only fall on the guilty? It certainly makes the situation of the assaulted worse, and of the assailants better, and rather encourages than prevents murder, as it requires less courage to attack unarmed than armed persons.

Checking Wash Gun Law youtube about 80 minutes ago it seems that there are about 20,000 more yes than no votes with many small and a few large communities having outstanding votes and who had leaned "No on 114".

I have a few dumb guy questions I want clarification on if you guys can help:

1. Can standard cap mags be transported to private ranges and used legally??
2. No modifications are needed to the firearm, correct??
3. Do qe have any idea of when this trash takes effect?
