...even at the workbench, WEAR 'EM. It's important--I was doing some fit testing on the Gremlin this morning and the damn thing almost cost me my right eye when it tried to bite me with a buffer-retainer to the eyeball, stopped only by my polycarbonate eyeglass lens.
So yeah, it's important. Eyes ALWAYS even if what you're doing doesn't need ears; safety first, last and every notch in between. If you wear glasses, consider looking into polycarbs, they cost a bit more but are well worth it for the convenience of having your safety glasses always there without needing to fight with another pair, and this isn't the first "Save" mine have scored.
