I would say when all groups can riot, burn a city and eat a cheeseburger on the same night, you ain't oppressed. But when only some groups can get away with that but other groups can't, then there is definitely some form of oppression in the works. You can be pretty sure PB or PPG would not have been able to get away with that type of "protest" for any significant length of time.

To me, if a group of insurgents come to my house wearing masks and try to burn it down I would call that an act of domestic terrorism.

The DA in Portland would call that a "peaceful protest" and would likely bring charges up against the homeowner.
