The only question that matters may not be asked in Olympia

When former Congresswoman Gabrielle "Gabby" Giffords appears today in Olympia to testify in favor of Initiative 594, the 18-page gun control measure being sold as a "universal background check" requirement, only one question should be asked: How would adoption of this measure have prevented what happened in Tucson in January 2011?

Just watched a documentary in History Channel on Sunday... So many parallels/simarities to how the National Socialist Workers Party came to power....

That would be the Nazi party for you low-info types out there.

It started with nationalizing private industry and lying to the low info voters to get there support while giving free stuff until the trains started to the death camps Opps too late to fix this. Game over. So what country would ride in to save us like we did in WW2? Ya no one. Can we really rely on "We The People" at this time in America? Its the million I mean Trillion dollar question.

I'm hoping you misunderstood what the comment intended....

"Her shooter is a good argument for more training".....

implied that "we"/ "us"....the law abiding patriot, pro-2A crowd should always bring our A-game when it comes to weapons training in the event that a nut-job like Gifford's shooter arrives on the scene and needs to be dealt with.

Taku, my apologies, I misunderstood your comments to mean the shooter needed more training.

You could stop all these mass shootings by simply disallowing gun ownership to people who self-identify as "liberals" (who are actually progressives and not liberal at all).
It's the one vector that all of them had in common.

Dead on :s0155:

Taku, I don't agree with what Giffords is doing with her "fame" but that comment is disgusting. The "trained" shooter would have killed more people all so she wouldn't testify. Nice wish.

So you missed the part about the trained CHL holders. I think he meant that someone may have been able to stop the nut before he got to her.

I watched that Sunday. Seems that history really does repeat its self.

sorry, but the nazis did not nationalize private industry. the nazi government may have influenced/directed the course of industry, but in nazi germany private property--especially industry--was protected for all non-jews. realize that to maintain power, hitler had to make a deal with german capitalists and the german military; hitler reassured both elite groups that their status in german society was protected: favor capitalists over workers (and hence, the dissolution of all non-nazi trade unions), and reinforce the dominance of the german "junkers" as officers of the german army/navy. hitler came to power per the conditions/rules of the weimar constitution, and after being named chancellor hitler appeased the ruling elite--who in turn allowed for hitler's power grab when he merged the offices of "president" and "chancellor" with the "emergency powers act." there was no "free stuff" in nazi germany. so long as industry and capital cooperated with the nazi imperative, it was better than "business as usual," for the german industrialists/capitalists made even greater fortunes via nazi policies and war.

EDIT: i forgot to include, it was ernst rohm who proclaimed the need to "continue" the NSDAP "revolution," by nationalizing industry and ejecting the prussian junkers from the military. long story short, rohm was eliminated.

I could have stated it a little more clearly also.
With people like that, better trained citizens with firearms are the fastest response that could exist.
Like the saying goes, when seconds count the cops are always minutes away.
A well armed society tends to become a polite society as well.
Kennesaw Georgia and Chiloquin Oregon are prime examples of safe towns. Both require all willing residents to be armed the result is, criminals detour around them.

I was mainly referring to the same methods that were used to lull the populace into complacency that allowed the Nazi party to rise to power, but in regard to what you just posted it sounds like the Nazi party utilized crony capitalism.... Just like what is transpiring these days, those in positions of power within the government picking and choosing who wins, and who loses. The very heart of facism is state run industry, and you want to contend that the German "captains of industry" would have defied the will of Hitler once his power was establish?

The same crap is going on, you have GE, Trumka, and other corporate leaders going to the Oval Office to "kiss the ring" on a regular basis. "Fundamentally transforming" any society requires the cooperation of the society's elite at the onset, usually promising them wealth, power, and status. Then once they're usefulness is over they get sucked into the ovens with the rest of the "riff-raff".

Volkswagen in every driveway :-/
The German People the Jews and the world got sucker punched.
Not far from whats happening in the Whitehouse today.
Obumcare in everyone's pocket though.
People like Giffords are attached to strings dancing at the dems wishes.

So Giffords got to speak for TEN MINUTES ahead of WA state residents, who were limited to 90 seconds each.

Over on WAguns, people are saying that this violates state law - non-residents are supposedly restricted to speak only after all state residents provide input. But, nobody can cite this law?

Rumor has it that Gabby showed up on such short notice because Bloomberg forked out 60k in haste to get her up here. I mean seriously, there was almost no warning that she was coming, but once she was here the state pulled out all stops to accomodate her above all else.

Who do we complain to about this obvious bias by the committee in allowing Giffords to come out of nowhere and browbeat WA citizens?
