A group of people lining the designated media area at Selby's news conference had a different issue in mind: They wanted the city to address people who've been bringing firearms to demonstrations.

One man in particular interjected throughout the time set aside for reporters to ask questions, yelling "Why can't you ban open carry?" and "You're going to get people killed, they have guns on street corners," saying the people bringing guns are threatening protesters and calling the mayor a "coward."

The event did not include a public comment period and the mayor did not answer the attendees' questions directly, with an exception: When one attendee asked whether it's true that "white supremacists have permits for this weekend," Selby quickly said that rumor was false.

She and City Manager Burney took questions regarding the presence of guns at the demonstrations from reporters, and Burney approached the group of citizens for a conversation after the event ended.

In response to a reporter's question regarding what people should do if they encounter people who are armed, Burney said, "If you have concerns about those folks, you should call 911."

In Casper the Patriots will be there again today; to protect the (10:1 outofstate) 'Peaceful' socialists exercising the 1st, by very appropriately using the 2nd for exactly one of the several reasons the founders used in their justifications for its importance.

Casper business owners, their employees, property owners, and its citizens will protect their God given life, constitutionaly protected liberty, in their own pursuit of happiness all doing their part in keeping the peace too.

The Constitution at work.

If you watch the video and look at the "crowd", you might count three dozen people or so. This would be analogous to the "crowd" in Pontius Pilate's courtyard.
I kept sound off, so did not listen to the video, but by the description in the article, it sounds more like a heckler or two.
I'm sorry. When people wear feed bags, it's hard to take them seriously. I shake my head and wonder, "whither has common sense disappeared?"

Why won't these terd leaders/elected officials respond by saying. "This is America, we have rights. Freedom of speech and the right to bear arms is part of what we hold dear"

Ah, never mind.

Seattle suspends the 2nd, now bans the PD use of tear gas (CS) for crowd control (used when the action was so bad that the PD ran out of pepper balls and flashbangs) due to the risk of respiratory distress to those rioters (uhm, excuse me, "protestors" that refuse to disperse) that may have Covid. o_O

Photo of Olympia Police officer with armed men prompts mayor's post, OPD investigation

Mayor Selby shouldn't post when she doesn't know what she's talking about. The 3% hand sign is NOT the OK symbol, which was only a joke anyway. Friggin snowflakes that get upset about armed citizens showing up to provide security for a gun store... what if it was a gay bakery, would it be ok then???

Geezez.... that mayor REEKS of weakness, and is in full-on "pander mode".

As a life long resident of Oregon, I'm always "amused" (annoyed actually) when a California "transplant" politician attempts to preach to me about "Oregon values", and "who we (Oregon) are".... My retort; you're an interloper who has misappropriated my home state, that's who YOU are.

@bbass - Yeah. That Covid isn't anything to mess with. Be safer to stay away... lol I'm thinking you'll be alright where you're at.

It's not as lethal as it's made out to be. The more we learn accurate numbers on how many people have been infected, the more the fatality level that is announced is diluted. The fact that city, county, and state govt doesn't care if protestors maintain Covid guidelines lends itself to the argument. :s0037:

I'm part of the high risk population, so I'm pretty careful anyway. And I think that's all the we need... just let the vulnerable stay away from those that might be infected. Or to take extra precautions if we have to be exposed to others.

But yes, NE Oregon has very little Covid. We have more protestors than we have cases of Covid. Somebody spray painted protest phrases all over the underpass after last Friday's pitiful demonstration. Total Covid cases in my county = 6 since the beginning. Nearby county to the north = 4, to the south = 1. (None of these required hospitalization.) Over the hill to the west =14.

So I think it's safe for me to go get my haircut, go out to eat Mexican, or go out with the Oathkeepers to make sure those graffiti artists get caught next time they pull that crap!!!

Feels don't trump a right, a right that SHOULD be unquestionable, but always gets challenged as though it were even up for discussion ( Which it Never should be), so some folks spout off about armed people, so what snow flake, get over it! How do you even know who is armed and who isn't? hum..........
concealed is a pretty dang nifty way to prevent said interactions, and keep the yellow snow flakes worried! :D

Consider the following -

1) The WA governor opened up the prisons a month or two ago to let prisoners out to protect them from coronavirus. I think other Democrat governors did the same.

2) Government goes on campaign to make everyone wear masks and stay inside the house.

3) Democrats encourage protestors to join the mob (but to continue wearing the masks to protect them from coronavirus). Democrat politicians who previously prosecuted business owners for violating quarantine orders, are now out with wearing their coronavirus masks and walking aroud inside the groups of protesters to egg them on.

4) Many police departments are being given orders to not use crowd control weapons, or direct stand-down orders. See this one from yesterday: Public health officials worry tear gas, pepper spray could contribute to coronavirus spread as Seattle protests continue

5) Rioters are wearing masks, which makes them anonymous.

6) When police arrest rioters, Democrat District Attorneys in some parts of the countryorder the rioters to be released.

7) Soros had been paying money to elect his favorit Democrat District Attorneys for years.

Coincidence? You tell me...

Coincidence? You tell me...

You won't get an argument from me... I don't believe in coincidences by and large. But I do believe that Soros is an evil man that has worked behind the curtain (along with our very own state dept) to overthrow govts and install the New World Order.

Soros had been paying money to elect his favorit Democrat District Attorneys for years.
Soros, Bloomberg and a host of others are the new Goldstein in a distorted way. As we watch the values of a free American society under attack and being eroded, we point to them and holler, "it's ______ !! (Insert the name of any uber-liberal here). The problem is (IMO), the masses believe that America is more free and better off than ever before, and they are lulled to believe that they are safer, and the government will keep them safer, if they trade in a few freedoms.
You can thank schools, mass media and Hollywood for that perception.
Meanwhile, we're standing here, with our arms crossed, our hands making the 3% sign, saying, "uh huh, we know what's coming next."
Edit to add:
Ironically, we're reviled in the press, and called the violent, white supremacist, racist arseholes for being that way.

Ironically, we're reviled in the press, and called the violent, white supremacist, racist arseholes for being that way.

Not just the press... everywhere! I can't have an honest convo with any person today w/o being called those things. Being patriotic, supporting the USA, believing in the American Dream, believing in equal opportunity, believing in Rights, believing in an honest look at facts, not accepting anybody's dogma, makes me a racist somehow.

We used to live just north of Seattle.
Hated Seattle.

We moved 18 miles south of Olympia 15 years ago to get away from Seattle.
We just moved 2000 miles away from Olympia and that isn't quite far enough.
It's a mini-Seattle only dumber.

I also cannot tell you how much I enjoy NOT living in Washington state.
Even my toilet paper is softer.........
From 2000 miles away that state looks even dumber.
I have no idea what the folks in Olympia breathe but it isn't air.
Don't even get me started on Inslee.
