Reposting from Calguns. I think this is a great idea! Who's in?
Money Bomb NRA idea for 03/24/18
Money Bomb NRA idea for 03/24/18 - Calguns.net

The anti-gunner dweebs are planning their "March for our Lives" on 03/24/18. I saw a Facebook post of someone proposing a money bomb for the NRA on that day for us to fight back. The NRA has 5 million members, if everyone gave just $1 that would still be $5 million in one day. I'm putting myself down for $20. Who's with me? If your principles don't allow you to donate to the NRA, then donate to the GOA or whatever group of your choosing. However I would urge you to think about the fact that, whenever the SHTF, the NRA is the organization that the Left spends all its energy demonizing and smearing. They wouldn't expend all that effort if they didn't fear the crap of the NRA.

Gun owners need to work and have families, we don't have time to march like they do. However, we can click through some money to our pro-gun organizations. What do you guys say? Spread the word.

I give to the NRA all the time through Round-Up. And I will continue to be a member. I may even do this money-bomb idea.

But, here's my recent beef with NRA:
I've been a member of NRA for over 8 years. After 5 years I became a voting member and voted regularly for 3 elections. I was expecting my ballot this year and didn't get one. You know why? My annual renewal this year was a couple months late and my 8 years dropped back to ZERO. I have to wait 5 more years to be a voting member again. Screw them!! But that is just my emotional reaction to their crappy customer service.

I'll still support them every day, all day.

I agree they are far from perfect but the best we have. I am annoyed at the amount they spend on soliciting donations, I give a lot but it seems that they spend all I give and more soliciting more from me. I am sure that some bean counter has it all figgured out but it seems excessive to me.

The NRA and Trump are getting royally flamed online at the moment.

The NRA and Trump have both given ground to the Antis. While your heart is in the right place.. the FUDDS are ruining the NRA and I have a feeling DC Rinos have Trumps ear now.

If something is set up for the GOA and OFF Id be happy to partake.

I let my NRA membership expire when I added up the postage they spent sending me "want money" letters multiple times every week and it almost matched my membership dues. That alone told me that's where my money was going, typical pyramid scheme is what I concluded. Maybe times have changed in the eight years since I quit.

You're completely right about lifetime membership fixing this issue, but you know why I've been doing annual? Because over my lifetime I've thought that doing annual would mean I'd give much more money to the NRA. Early and often is a good motto for giving money to great causes like this.

It's a bummer that they can't just do it like a Costco membership where you can pay late and they just date it the same.

If you live in Oregon, you can contribute $50 per tax filer or $100 if filing jointly with spouse (per calendar year) to a "political cause or campaign" that is certified in Oregon and get 100% of the donation back as a tax credit. It's a credit, not a deduction.

A donation to Oregon Firearms Federation (OFF) qualifies for this credit:

Make your contribution at the end of the year and it's only a couple months until you get the cash back after filing your taxes.

This is an easy, no cost way to help the 2A fight!

I'll drop 'em a $20, what better way to stick it to the liberal/socialist/leftists then pump up the coffers of the one group they hate the most!

Think I'll drop $20 to GOA and $20 to OFF as well... Just a show of strength...
