Im tired of being constantly told im a bad guy simply because I own firearms! Im tired of being browbeaten for the actions of criminals!
Im tired of all discussions where I must give, and they do not give any thing in return!
Im tired of all the lies and deceit! Im tired of the entire political system for demanding things of me with out just cause!
Im tired of having my rights equated to a privilege i must ask permission to excercize and/or pay a tax or fee to "Allow" me to excercize!
Im tired of being told God didnt intend for fully semi automatic firearms, and that I have no right to own weapons of war!

I could go on, but im going to stop before I really go off and have to ban my self!

A conversation is indeed , needed.
But..
A conversation only really works when both sides are:
Open to ideas...And the other person's point of view...
Willing to give and take...not have the "compromise" being : "We get what we want , you give up something"...
Able to listen...
Honest...
Able to present facts as well as feelings , there is a place for both in a conversation ...but neither facts or feelings , should be allowed to rule totally...
Willing to go into the conversation and not resort to "blanket statements" or stereotypes...
Able to understand that if you ask questions , the answer may not be what you want to hear...
Willing to understand that the other person , will feel that they are just as "right" as you are...

So basically we need to have a conversation ...but the chances of a meaningful conversation is pretty slim.

Ahhh, so you haaave been paying attention.

1. I'm in the group that has come to the point of having a two word convo with anti-gun haters. You can ask what those two words are, but only one of them can be printed here: "you!"

2. Every year for 50 years I had a license to kill... started out fairly cost effective but lately ODFW has priced me out. A few years til I can get the $6 "free" Pioneer license.

:D

That aside, you don't need a license to buy or own a car.

So, you need a license to operate a car on public roads and with firearms you need a license to operate them to hunt animals....

We really do have to get a license, a hunting license. It's almost as if the license is for certain activities done with the item and not on the item itself.

Crap I should have never said that, pretty soon there will be a license to use ranges. If there's a way to screw us out of more of our hard earned money they will do it.

A few months ago, and for the first time, I watched the first two seasons of the series "Veep". In this context, the whole absurd theater makes sense.

Maybe the Dumbest Attempt at a Gun Ban Ever

"If you need a license to drive a car. You should need a license to buy and own a firearm."

—Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ)

To Progressives there are no rights, especially individual rights. All things are privileges which can be granted (usually for a fee) and rescinded by fiat.

Booker is dangerous, but the press already decided Kamala Harris would win the nomination months ago, so he is irrelevant.

So basically we need to have a conversation ...but the chances of a meaningful conversation is pretty slim.

Like dude, why have a conversation when group psychosis is so much easier...when the hive mind is so "inclusive" and when group consensus is so warm and fuzzy.

Conversations and thinking are hard work - especially so for assault politicians who seem hell bent to trade in our current Constitutional values for the tyranny of socialism or the governmental model of the French Republic. :s0037:

I put the rhetorical "license" question in the same catagory as the "registration" question... "You don't have a problem registering your car... ". Stupid non sequiturs.

A) You assume I don't have a problem registering my vehicle. It's a very strong possibility that I actually DO have a problem with it.

B) Vehicle registration fees generate revenue for building and maintaining the roads that I use that very vehicle on (theoretically). What manner of infrastructure will my gun registration be used for?

BTW, Booker's home state of NJ has a gun licensing/registration scheme that does 0.0 to reduce violent crime. It actually produces more "criminals" in the form of regular citizens getting legally jammed-up over some paperwork SNAFU.

How these nitwits can yammer-on about prison reform while advocating for the overnight creation of MILLIONS of new nonviolent felons without feeling a tinge of irony escapes me. Current US prison population is about 2.3M. If stats and my rudimentary math holds true... using the 3% of Americans own guns metric, and assuming that +/- 3% would refuse to comply, they would almost triple the prison population if their proposed schemes were to be put into place.

Nice work.
