I'll bet most of us here have had a dumb@$$ oops moment at one time or another that cost a lot more than that!
You and me both, Brother!Yep, my first wife!
These things happen, the main thing is don't do it more than three times .....I just heard back, I'm taking it in tomorrow. Mostly I just feel like a dumbass
Yep, my first wife!
Dating after my 1st marriage, GF du jour was asking about my ex.You and me both, Brother!
But at least I was smart enough to stop after the first one...
Barrel in the freezer and the receiver in an oven might have been a better way then pounding on it.
...I heated the upper and put the barrell in the freezer and then aeroshelled the bubblegum out of it, and when that didn't work, I got frustrated and tried using a large diameter punch, which in hindsight, was asinine. On the upside, I got the barrel all the way in finally! Lol
Thats actually what I did first. That and a bubblegumload of aeroshell. I was reading some other posts seems like the combo of BA barrels and bcm uppers is a match made in hell lolBarrel in the freezer and the receiver in an oven might have been a better way then pounding on it.
Didn't realize it was autocensoring my swearsThats actually what I did first. That and a bubblegumload of aeroshell. I was reading some other posts seems like the combo of BA barrels and bcm uppers is a match made in hell lol
That happens here... It keeps the site clean enough for the li'l shooters to join in on the fun, too...Didn't realize it was autocensoring my swears
Welcome to The Board, by the way...
I WOULD TRY A DIFFERENT HOBBY.Who held your beer?
No shame from me. I've ruined a gun before inadvertently and it cost me. A barrel is nothing and is fixable. Glad you are getting it fixed.I just heard back, I'm taking it in tomorrow. Mostly I just feel like a dumbass
This is my weapon & this is my gun. This one's for shooting & this one's for fun. (US Army/`71) Fort Lost in the woods...No shame from me. I've ruined a gun before inadvertently and it cost me. A barrel is nothing and is fixable. Glad you are getting it fixed.
Bravo Company uppers come with a disclaimer that says you have to heat and lube the barrel prior to insertion. I didnt get it hot enough because I didn't have the proper equipment. Heat gun did the trickI'm still kinda stumped....been playing with ARs for almost 30 years, built 30+ as well as swapped barrels more times than I can count....I have never had to force a barrel into a receiver. That would have screamed "STOP"!!!, something is wrong.
Still have to time the brake, but I've been drinking and I learned my lesson about working on my gun when I'm drinking.
