If you are a responsible gun owner who believes people are accountable for their actions then it is impossible to understand the mentality of the other team.

But I think among other things, they believe everyone is on a sliding scale of mental illness and anyone could just snap. Just like they believe anyone can wind up on the streets... And they also believe people are not accountable for their own actions since the game is rigged. Or something like that.

The reasons why one person is a gun grabber will be different for another person who is also anti-gun.
Just like how the reasons for owning firearms are different for each gun owner.

Most anti gunners are aware the criminal violence would continue, but is the deadly efficiency of criminal violence with guns would be greatly reduced or hypothetically eliminated. This is true, but also most anti gunners are not aware of how perilous society is to social breakdown, revolt, war. Most Americans are complacent that these things only happen in other parts of the world, and to think otherwise is a wacky conspiracy theory.

They should amend the Constitution to ban ALL evil things. Guns, booze, drugs, loose women, asparagus... I bet it would work great and everyone would obey the new law of the land. I can't imagine anyone would dare imbibe in these evils without the governments permission, creating cottage black markets that would just make the problems worse.

There was something several years ago from one of the UK "news" reporters about how 2 out of 5 people were convicts and that meant 3 out of 5 were possible criminals who haven't been caught/convicted

Basically the hypothesis is that everyone may be a criminal, a crazy, a mentally ill person and no one is held accountable for their own behavior.


Have said this before.

Criminals are not a threat to the government.

Angry lawful citizens are the threat.

Laws exist to make criminals

Laws exist to provide employment for jailers, judges, lawyers, and politicians.

Criminals ensure that these people stay employed.
