Since you know more than all in the world why are you not setting up shop? This has been going on for decades. You would be sitting on a mountain of money and all the other lawyers who don't know what you know would be slapping their heads. Wondering why only you knew this
Did you research the case law? Did you read where other lawyers HAVE sued and won in this situation, and continue to do so when their clients are smart enough to object to being treated like cattle? You've made several incorrect statements about the law so far. I've quoted you the correct information. Further comment is probably a waste of time. Had I had your attitude I would never have gotten 3500 illegal radar speeding tickets thrown out, and the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program ended in the City of Stockton, CA in 1974. But you're one of those "the powers that be are always right" guys. BTW, which airline do you work for?

And here come the memes

Easy guys, this isn't a court of law. :)
Which is why it really should be. ;)

We have the same guys crucifying the passenger for crimes committed in his past and directly saying he is sub human worthy of this treatment because of his past.

I'm sure those armchair jockeys would think differently if it was them in that position and their past came to light..

Sir, you defended yourself with a firearm... BUT we see that 30 years ago you had sex with a 15 year old when you were 19, we can't charge you for it now. Sir, you have 18 parking tickets, you have people admitting you bought them booze when they were underage, you smoked pot when it was still illegal... the list goes on and on...

But while this has zero bearing on the actions of you defending yourself... we will make sure this is brought to light so the media and sheep can crucify you and minimize the PR damage like good sheep they are.

I don't fly often, but the last time I flew for work I got bumped in Chicago. Literally 5 mins before the plane was to depart. I didnmt cry about. It happens and as a customer of an airline it will happen to someone. This guy I would say is sub-human because he put his own feelings above the time and patience of dozens of other people.

So I could care less for him.

4 other people on that flight got off when asked with no issues.
They understood their agreement with the airline and respected the other passengers.

This snowflake thought he was special and somehow his feelings and time were more important than everyone else's.

He was probably in a hurry to get back to his next prostitute he was giving some oxy to.

And yes I'm going to bash this POS's previous history and conviction.

When you are a customer you still have to abide by that establishments rules.

Your right is to be offended if you wish, get your anus off the flight, and choose not to be a customer again.

Not act like a 5yr old throwing a temper tantrum.

It's not the airlines fault. It's the fault of the Feds who regulate the rules and allow this type of policy to take place.
All airlines do this, because it is Federal policy.

My wife and I lost our First Class seats last year on a United Flight. The plane was late, so it made all our subsequent connections not work. They gave us no choice but to spend an extra day in a town I did not care to be in. They put us up in a motel, gave us 30 dollars to eat on, and 200-dollars credit on a future booking. I had to fight to get this. It did not cover our extra expenses, but they gave me no other option.

My point is...If they have the right to bump anybody, any time, for any reason or for no reason, before they start randomly throwing people off the airplane, they should have offered the full amount allowable as enticement for somebody to volunteer to be bumped. Their cheapness will cost them far more than the few dollars they saved for themselves.

For the record? I hate United. But then, I hate them all. Just a very uncomfortable way to get somewhere in a hurry. I expect nothing more than that.

Interesting, and I told this to United, they advertise how wonderful they are, and their customer service is great, and please book with them. Bottom line, my choice in choosing any airline is the available schedule and connections to where I'm going. And since every airplane is full, it really doesn't matter that they try hard or not. They've got guaranteed full airplanes.

WAYNO.

Love it.

I'd have no problem with it except for the fact everyone else on the plane including him had already boarded and were in their seats when the airline rep at the desk decided on his own to pull 4 passengers off to put another aircrew on. It was not an overbooking situation. It was just a really really bad call by a low level clerk that works MOST of the time but has the potential to be a disaster any time they try it . No one got off the plane "because they understood their agreement with the airline and respected the other passengers" . They got off the plane because they got paid to. The guy who got mauled wasnt interested in the money. The guys past had nothing to do with anything. Sometimes going full retard is the best thing you can do.

Stupidity should be excruciatingly painful. In this case it is for United. They will learn from this blunder to treat paying customers with a bit more respect because if they don't they will lose business and money. I'm happier than hell that everyone has a video capable camera on themselves at all times.

Now the attorney is saying that he suffered a concussion, two missing teeth, and a broken nose.

And the guy said that being dragged from the plane was more horrifying than leaving saigon after vietnam.

This family is really playing it up now.

$

That's the only way corporations learn. There rules will change due to $ lost.

Good.

Less of a chance of getting bumped, or if you do (or volunteer), it will be far more worthwhile than your time lost, which you will never get that back.

Yeah, I am just tired of people doing what is right for them at the expense of everyone else, especially when there is a perfectly reasonable option (for example, $800 and a travel voucher).

If you are the average middle class American, you get what you want, pretty much most of the time. I just have no sympathy for people. How about taking one for the team, once in a while. If we looked out for each other better instead of just thinking about what we want, then liberals would run out of reasons to try and protect us from ourselves. Now we are all going to be subjected to more rules thanks to this a*hole, I would punch him in the face.

I'm thinking the guy was taking one for the team. He stood up to United's thugs and because of that air travel will improve for all of us. I'd buy the guy a drink...you know as long as he didnt try to slip something funny in mine.

The larger issue is that airlines (and corporations in general) have got into the habit of treating their (non premium) customers like dirt. I don't fly anymore because I refuse to suffer the Bataan Death March of indignities that comprises the act of flying anywhere commercially these days. I drive or take the train. Yeah, the passenger squealed like a little girl when he got beaten for not vacating his seat, so what? The bigger crime lies in our system of brutal capitalism for the little people and respect for only the few who can pay for it.
No, I'm not a Commie or a Socialist...
just an ordinary guy that requires ordinary basic respect from others.

Any one who went through the Bataan death march would probably kick your teeth in for associating that event with some dumb self entitled shet wagon getting just as he should have. Don't listen, you get treated like the child you should.

You guys sound like all the arrogant entitled BLM crowd.

And this --
United passenger threatened with handcuffs to make room for 'higher-priority' traveler

Fearns needed to return early so he paid about $1,000 for a full-fare, first-class ticket to Los Angeles. He boarded the aircraft at Lihue Airport on the island of Kauai, took his seat and enjoyed a complimentary glass of orange juice while awaiting takeoff.

Then, as Fearns tells it, a United employee rushed onto the aircraft and informed him that he had to get off the plane.

"I asked why," he told me. "They said the flight was overfull."

"That's when they told me they needed the seat for somebody more important who came at the last minute," Fearns said. "They said they have a priority list and this other person was higher on the list than me."

They said they'd put me in cuffs if they had to.
