There are so many things to unpack about this to determine if their claims, sources, data, aren't complete crap from the go, to even be able to talk about it after that.Is this true?

It says right in the paragraph "gun deaths" not homicides, which means it is totally unreliable from the get go because that will include suicides and people shot by police and self defense shootings. It also doesn't include injuries, which is more indicative of violence because not everyone who is shot, dies.adding this to the discussion.

Why did the politico map break apart into those very specific sections? Also, looking at the map it looks like just a basic dot plot of the largest population centers of the country.This is a good point. I think the politico article in question did separate suicides from homicides though.
