I suspect AI will eventually 'spill over' into the online porn industry as well, eliminating the need to pay 'real' people as the so called 'actors' and 'actresses'.

Pretty sure that kinda already happened; usually using game and cartoon characters

From what I read Hollywood is on strike over AI. Seems once you sign a contract Hollywood can use your image in AI any way they want. Plus the writers are being replaced with AI.

I've been seeing a lot of "deepfakes" and AI generated porn/pin ups using celebrity faces and vintage porn magazines to blend to create convincing fakes of famous actresses that usually didn't pose nude/or do porn...

The biggest US porn companies are in CA I think. Still. There's also international companies so that's likely going to be where most of the AI porn will come to dominate.

I don't watch porn but read about it in the news a lot. One thing I read was they have girls selling a look on something called "only fans". AI is taking their jobs away from what I read. Nation is turning totally depraved and there is no end to what they will generate with AI for money. It's a sickness.

OnlyFans. Supposedly the only real thing on there for a majority of the profiles.. are the photos and videos that women sell to them to use. The rest are all managed by teams of people.

Honestly this could be both good and bad for the actual living humans. Bad in the sense that a fan/stalker could try to find the actual human to harm or kill.. good in that if AI takes over the online porn and strip clubs are full of animatronic AI dolls, the living human beings will have to find actual honest work that's not sex-related

Maybe we'll see more people going to strip clubs, where, at least for the next few years, you know the girl is probably human. And hopefully a girl.

You tube has stories about it and even some business websites do. I get my general news from about five different places that gather the news around the world. I read a lot and remember.

It's pretty hard to not read at least click bait headlines about it. Seldom bother to delve into them but sure as hell do see a lot of "headlines" about this. Netflix did a series on one of the big players, Pornhub while back. That was quite interesting how that all came about and the damn money it was raking in was staggering.

Frankly, until a few days ago I had no idea how good AI has become at creating real life images of people. My daughter showed me a story and then saw a bigger write up on Z hedge, I posted it here.

Being cynical I can see a lot of evil that can be done with AI, there is no end to what they will do.

I ripped Cortana out of my home machine, and disabled all the AI crap in my phone. I guess now I know why my toaster hates me.
