1969 GMC PU. swapped the I6, 3 on the tree to 350 and 4 speed. Selling that was one of my biggest car regrets.
1980 Chev Crew Cab. 454 automatic. Best car a highschool kid could have. I was more reliable than the schoolbus and could haul just as many kids. Twin 22gal tanks meant I could go places, but big block said it was expensive

Have you never seen. The movie White Lightening?

IIRC they show him shifting, you hear him shifting, but there is a scene where he pulls up in front of a house and you can clearly see him put the column shifter into park. All Hollywood, but back then it made me think a lot about building a sleeper.
